Vietnam steps up security for national holidays
Public Security Minister Luong Tam Quang has ordered strict measures to ensure security as Vietnam is ramping up patrols and security nationwide for the Reunification Day and Labor Day holiday. The order is made at key events, transportation hubs and crowded areas, focusing on crime prevention, traffic control and fire and rescue readiness.

Vingroup targets US$12 billion in revenue by 2025
Vingroup, the largest multi-sector conglomerate in Vietnam, targets revenues of US$12 billion in 2025, an increase of 58.7% year-on-year. The group plans to expand EV exports to Southeast Asia through VinFast, grow green real estate via Vinhomes, and boost tourism through Vinpearl. It will also expand education, healthcare, and technological innovation in AI and battery solutions.
Global Sourcing Fair to boost Vietnam’s export
Global Sourcing Fair Vietnam 2025, taking place in Ho Chi Minh City on April 24-26, features 500 booths from over 400 exhibitors and is expected to attract some 10,000 buyers from key markets such as the US, Canada, Germany and Japan. The event highlights Vietnam's export strengths and provides a strategic sourcing platform amidst global supply chain challenges.
Bamboo Airways calls for visa reform
Tourism expert and CEO of Bamboo Airways Luong Hoai Nam urged changing Vietnam's visa policy from a management tool to a competitive tourism strategy at the seminar on April 24. He suggested visa waivers for the EU, Australia, and New Zealand, and longer-term visas for key nations such as the US, China, and India, while stressing the need for better tourism promotion and infrastructure.
National film screenings to mark Vietnam's major anniversaries
A national film screening campaign will be launched from April 30 to May 20 to commemorate the 50th anniversaries of Reunification Day (April 30), Labor Day (May 1), and the Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7). The program will feature documentaries, animation and feature films celebrating national unity, history and the legacy of President Ho Chi Minh.
Vietnam Pavilion opens at EXPO 2025 in Japan
The Vietnam Pavilion at EXPO 2025 Osaka-Kansai in Japan opens on April 24, welcoming visitors and announcing "Hue - Ancient Capital, New Opportunity" as the theme for the National Tourism Year 2025. The exhibition promotes Vietnamese culture, history and international partnerships through interactive displays, while showcasing Hue's tourism potential to a global audience throughout the year.

Vietnam finalizes plan to tackle air pollution
Vietnam is finalizing a National Action Plan to combat air pollution and manage air quality for 2026-2030, including initiatives in energy, transportation, waste, and construction. Vietnam Street Dance 2025 attracts hundreds of national talents
Vietnam Street Dance 2025, to be held April 25-27 at Vinhomes Ocean Park 2 in the northern province of Hung Yen, aims to attract 500 dancers nationwide to showcase top performances in 14 categories, including hip-hop, breaking and popping. The competition serves as a launching pad for young Vietnamese dancers to qualify for international tournaments in Thailand and Taiwan (China) in May and August.
