Romanian citizens from Vietnamese visa requirements. 

Romanian Ambassador to Vietnam Cristina Romila, at a meeting on August 13 with Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung, expected to exempt Romanian citizens from Vietnamese visa requirements. The two sides also discussed ways to strengthen labor cooperation and the possibility of a bilateral social insurance agreement on pensions, health, and maternity.

Vietnam to host International Dance Festival 2024

The 2024 International Dance Festival will be held in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue on August 17-22, featuring nearly 500 artists from 17 art troupes representing nine countries. Hosted by Vietnam's Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the triennial event promotes cultural exchange and showcases various dance styles, including folk, classical, and modern.

Vietnam to host Asia-Pacific Robot Contest

The Asia-Pacific Robot Contest 2024 will be held in the northern province of Quang Ninh between August 23 and 27 with the participation of 13 teams from 12 countries and territories, including two from Vietnam. In addition to the official matches, the contestants will participate in cultural exchanges and sightseeing tours of Ha Long Bay.

Vietnamese embassy hosts an annual family day in Washington, D.C

 

The Embassy of Vietnam in Washington D.C. hosted the annual "Vietnamese Village Family Day" last weekend at Rock Creek Park. More than 150 participants enjoyed a day of bonding as children were recognized for their academic achievements and families engaged in games, sports, and outdoor dining. The event strengthened the bonds between Embassy staff and their families.

First-ever energy efficiency accelerator program launched in Vietnam

A first-of-its-kind energy efficiency accelerator program has been launched in Vietnam and applications for the program are now open until September 25.

The program will award a total of US$35,000 to the top three startups and $10,000 to the top three youth teams. Participating teams will secure the opportunity to take part in national and international pitching events to seek investments of up to $1 million from strategic venture capital partners. The program supports the National Program on Energy Efficiency and Conservation for 2019-30, which aims to reduce total national energy consumption by 8-10% by 2030, contributing to Vietnam's net-zero ambition.

Quang Noodles recognized as national heritage

Quang Noodles, a traditional dish from the central province of Quang Nam known for its thick rice noodles and versatile ingredients, has been officially recognized as an intangible cultural heritage of Vietnam. The dish was on the menu at the APEC Summit Banquet in 2017.

Hanoi hosts 2024 national roller sports championships

 

The 2024 National Roller Sports Championship and All-Age Group Championship will be held at the Hanoi National Sports Complex from August 16 to 18. The event will bring together 200 athletes from 10 provinces and cities across Vietnam to compete in 39 events in speed racing and artistic performances. The competition aims to evaluate the quality of training, select national team members, and promote sports development in Vietnam.

 

Danang celebrates National Day with more than 20 cultural events

Danang will host more than 20 cultural and artistic events to celebrate the 79th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19) and National Day (September 2). Activities will take place throughout August and September, including weekly outdoor movie screenings, art performances, a reading culture festival, traditional Bai Choi singing, and large-scale events such as the Vietnam-South Korea Festival and Charming Danang Art Show.
