Diplomatic activities of the Nguyen Dynasty on display

A three-dimensional exhibition of documents featuring the Imperial Archives of the Nguyen Dynasty - World Document Heritage will be launched on August 22 at https://archives.org.vn.

The exhibition presents for the first time hundreds of unique documents, useful information and new perspectives on the country's diplomatic activities during the first 50-plus years of independence under the Nguyen dynasty between 1802 and 1858.

Project to support overseas Vietnamese students in Australia

The Association of Vietnamese Students in Queensland has carried out a project to help overseas Vietnamese students in Queensland, Australia, with career orientation.

Called "Career Compass", the project ran for three weeks from August 1 and featured three career days on Computer Science & Software Engineering, Design, and Accounting and Finance, which are most chosen by Vietnamese students in Australia.

Kien Giang follows EC recommendations to combat IUU fishing

The Mekong Delta province of Kien Giang is following European Commission (EC) recommendations to combat illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing, as part of a nationwide effort to lift the EC's "yellow card" on Vietnam's seafood exports.

The provincial authority has issued 116 certificates of origin for over 1,000 tons of seafood destined for Europe. It has also subsidized subscription fees for the Voyage Monitoring System (VMS) service for fishing vessels. The two phases of this initiative benefited nearly 15,200 vessel trips and the third phase will benefit additional 7,000 vessel trips.

Part of 500kV Circuit 3 transmission line put into operation

The Quynh Luu - Thanh Hoa 500kV Circuit 3 transmission line was put into operation on August 19 by the National Power Transmission Corporation.

The 92-kilometer line, which crosses the central provinces of Nghe An and Thanh Hoa, is expected to reduce the load and avoid overloading the existing 500kV lines, regulating power sources in the north and central regions.

International health exhibition to be held in November

Wellness Expo 2024, an international health products exhibition, is scheduled to run from November 7 to 9 in Hanoi. The event will attract the participation of 100 companies and organizations, with nearly 150 booths displaying high-quality health products. It will feature health promotion activities, Vietnam-Korea culinary exchange programs, and health counseling sessions.

Argentina leads in corn exports to Vietnam between January and July

Argentina ranked first in corn exports to Vietnam from January to July, with 3.19 million tons, up 130% year-on-year. Argentina's corn imports from January to July accounted for 55% of the country's total imports of the commodity, with a total value of up to US$772 million, up 70.9% from the same period last year.

Vietnam National Day celebrated in Egypt

The 79th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day (September 2) was celebrated in Egypt on August 19. At the event, Ahmed Shaheen, Assistant Minister of Egyptian Foreign Affairs for Asia-Pacific, called for investment and business promotion by Vietnamese enterprises in the Egyptian market. Vietnamese Ambassador to Egypt Nguyen Huy Dung affirmed that Vietnam will strengthen cooperation with Egypt in many fields and actively participate in international humanitarian aid activities.
