ASEAN top police gather to strengthen cooperation against transnational crime 

Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang, Minister of Public Security of Vietnam, called for strengthening regional cooperation against transnational crime at the 18th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Transnational Crime in Vientiane on August 28. 

At the event, the regional countries discussed mechanisms against other kinds of crime, including drug crime and highlighted Vietnam's contributions to the ASEAN Senior Officials' Meeting on Transitional Crime (SOMTC).

South Korea seeks ways to promote trade with Vietnam 

The visit to Vietnam by South Korea's Minister of Small and Medium Enterprises and Start-ups, Oh Young Joo, starting on August 28, aims to discuss measures to promote bilateral trade with Vietnam. She suggested focusing on increasing Vietnamese firms' involvement in the global supply chain, human resource training in hi-tech, digital transformation, semiconductors, artificial intelligence (AI), and small and medium-sized enterprises.

Danang, Kuala Lumpur to launch direct flight next month 

A new air route between Danang and Kuala Lumpur will be launched on September 24, and Malaysian Airlines will launch seven flights a week. 

Danang, which is home to 18 investment projects from Malaysia worth a total of US$222 million, is the destination of Malaysian investors, mostly in finance-banking, tourism, digital transformation, and healthcare.

 

Gia Lai promotes trade and investment cooperation with Australia

Vietnam's Central Highlands Province of Gia Lai and the Australian state of New South Wales acknowledged the potential cooperation following a meeting in Sydney on August 28. The both sides also discussed cooperation in renewable energy, tourism, and high-quality agriculture.

 

Paragliding festival showcases scenic beauty in Mu Cang Chai

 

Visitors will enjoy breathtaking moments with the paragliding festival "Flying Over Scenic Landmarks - Golden Season 2024", which will be held in Mu Cang Chai, Yen Bai from September 1.

The three-day festival will feature motorized and non-motorized flights, artistic smoke displays and dual-flight experiences, showcasing the stunning beauty with terraced rice fields of one of the most breathtaking destinations in Vietnam.

Supercar rally kicks off 25th year in Ho Chi Minh City

The Gumball 3000 supercar rally will start in Ho Chi Minh City on September 14, marking its 25th year. The event will see over 100 supercars, including Bugatti and Ferrari, embark on a 3,000-mile journey across five Southeast Asian countries.

Notable participants include Maximillion Cooper and soccer player Patrice Evra, with rumors suggesting that Vietnamese multi-millionaire Dang Le Nguyen Vu may attend with his impressive car collection.

Ha Tinh gains popularity with Lao, Thai visitors

The central province of Ha Tinh has become a popular destination for visitors from Laos and Thailand over the past few years thanks to its ecotourism, characterized by beautiful beaches and specialities. 

Statistics showed up to 40% of Ha Tinh's international visitors are Laotians, followed by Thai people 30%, and Chinese 20%. Meanwhile, 30% of domestic visitors are from Hanoi, who mainly choose ecotourism, which includes resorts and beaches.

Khanh Hoa and India eye direct flights 

Khanh Hoa Province and the Consulate General of India eyed direct flights to serve the rising demand for travel from Indian visitors to Nha Trang, home to world-class beaches. 

At the conference on August 28 in Ho Chi Minh City as part of the Namaste Vietnam Festival 2024, the two sides also discussed cooperation in yoga and ecotourism.
