Netherlands backs Vietnam's human resources improvement 

The Netherlands will support Vietnam in developing high-quality human resources, Dutch representatives shared at a seminar commemorating 50 years of Vietnam-Netherlands relations on December 15 in Hanoi. To enhance future cooperation, the two countries need to leverage the opportunities presented by the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) and the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA), while also promoting new fields like circular economy, green development, and technology transfer.

Over 80% of Vietnamese people suffer from dental issues

More than 80% of Vietnamese people have dental problems such as cavities, gum inflammation, and periodontitis, the results of a nationwide oral health survey revealed at the VNU Dental Exhibition Conference (VNU DEC 2023), which aims to strengthen connections between domestic dental and international communities.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade honored 173 exemplary rural industrial products at the national level during a ceremony held on December 15 at the Hanoi - National Architecture, Planning, and Construction Exhibition. The opening ceremony of the rural industrial exhibition also took place on the same day.

Hanoi gathers resources for key industries

Hanoi strives to support all businesses producing key industrial products. This is part of the city's new plan to develop main industrial products in 2024. The Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade continues to coordinate with other agencies to remove obstacles in construction, customs, taxation, and investment to facilitate businesses.

Quang Tri launches US$247-million airport project

Quang Tri Airport project, launched by the People's Committee of the central province of Quang Tri and Join venture T&T and CIENCO4 on December 15, will be built under the public-private partnership (PPP). With a total investment of nearly VND6 trillion (US$247 million), this airport is estimated to cover 265 hectares in Gio Linh District. It is estimated to have a capacity of 5 million passengers and 25,500 tons of cargo per year.

Dien Bien Culture and Tourism Week showcases Northwest culture in Hanoi

The Dien Bien Culture and Tourism Week was inaugurated on December 15 at Ba Kieu Temple, Hoan Kiem Lake Walking Street, to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - 2024) and 51st anniversary of "Hanoi - Dien Bien Phu in the air" victory. The event has attracted tourists with unique cultural activities, such as the Spring Love Market and dances of Ha Nhi people.

Booking.com company recently announced the top five international tourist markets choosing Vietnam as the top destination this winter, including South Korea, Australia, Singapore, the UK, and the US. This report is based on search sessions during November 2023, with check-in dates from December 1 to December 29, 2023. Both the travel trend of international tourists coming to Vietnam and vice versa are increasing. According to the report, destination search results in Vietnam have increased by 298% over the same period last year.

Hanoi hosts OCOP farm produce program to welcome New Year 2024 

 

The “Program to Promote One Commune One Product (OCOP) farm produce and craft villages to welcome the New Year 2024" will take place on December 15-18 at Hoi Xa Street (Phuc Loi Ward, Long Bien District). With 90 booths, the event is expected to display about 1,000 agricultural and typical OCOP products of Hanoi and other provinces namely the northern province of Lao Cai, the central province of Nghe An, and the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong.
