Viettel expands into Malaysia’s defense technology market

Viettel High Tech received certification from Malaysia’s Ministry of Defence and Army for its military communication products that meet NATO standards At the Vietnam Defence Expo 2024. Tested in strict conditions, Viettel’s 4G and 5G technologies outperformed competitors, marking a key milestone in Viettel’s global expansion, particularly in Malaysia, with future collaboration plans in advanced defense technologies.

Viettel secures Middle Eastern 5G contract with strategic partnership

Viettel High Tech signed a US$1 million contract with UAE-based High Cloud Technologies to supply 5G systems for the Middle East at the Vietnam Defence Expo 2024. The partnership aims to enhance telecom coverage, especially in rural areas, boosting education and social development. This marks Viettel’s first major telecom project in the region, providing 4G/5G base stations and cloud-based core networks.

Central Vietnam reports significant tourism growth in 2024

Central Vietnam’s tourism sector thrived in 2024 with notable international visitor growth. Danang saw a 36.3% rise in foreign arrivals to 4.1 million. Quang Nam welcomed over 8 million visitors for the first time, including 5.5 million internationals. Quang Binh exceeded pre-pandemic levels, hosting 5.2 million tourists. Enhanced infrastructure and global recognition solidify the region’s appeal. 

Restoration project enhances Hai Van Quan’s cultural significance

The restoration and conservation of Hai Van Quan, a national relic straddling Thua Thien Hue and Danang, was completed after a VND42 billion (US$1.72 million) project. Located at 490m on Hai Van Pass, this military fort now symbolizes cultural preservation and regional collaboration. The site is poised to boost tourism in central Vietnam with its historical, architectural, and scenic significance.

Exhibition celebrates 80 years of Vietnam People’s Army achievements

The “Honoring Uncle Ho’s Soldiers” exhibition is now underway until the end of January 2025 in Hanoi, marking the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army (December 22, 1944-December 22, 2024). It features over 200 rare artifacts, highlighting the army’s legacy under President Ho Chi Minh’s guidance and its heroic evolution.
