Hanoi’s Ho Guom Opera enters world’s top 10 beautiful theaters

The Ho Guom Opera House in Hanoi was recently included in the prestigious list of the world's ten most magnificent theaters by the World Travel Awards. It joins renowned theaters such as the Vienna State Opera in Vienna, Italy, and the Metropolitan Opera House in New York, the US. The selection criteria included the theater's location, design, and artistic impact on the audience.

Vietnam promotes textile products in India

Businesses from Vietnam joined about 100 exhibitors from India, South Korea, China, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and United Arab Emirates (UAE) showcased products at Intex South Asia 2023 was held from December 7 to 9 at the IICC Exhibition Center, New Delhi, India.

Their products include textile materials such as fibers, fabrics, accessories to readymade garments and high-end fashion.

TikTok removed 95% of false content from its platform

The Ministry of Information and Communications has cooperated with video-sharing platform TikTok to block illegal and false content on its platform, removing about 95% of all unlawful and harmful videos, according to the ministry's Broadcasting and Electronic Information Authority. TikTok is now seeking to improve its content filter and prevent illegal videos.

Samsung and Oppo lead Vietnam's smartphone market

According to a report released in December by market analysis firm Canalys, Samsung maintains its dominance in Vietnam with a 29% market share, followed by Oppo with 24%. These Korean and Chinese companies currently hold more than half of the market. They are followed by Xiaomi (16%), Apple (15%), and Realme (6%).

FPT Software Joins Global AI Alliance

FPT Software, a subsidiary of FPT Corporation, has joined the AI Alliance, initiated by IBM and Meta, in collaboration with founding members around the world with the common goal of supporting open innovation and science in AI. On December 6, the company announced the acquisition of an 80% stake in French IT consulting firm AOSIS, a strategic move to strengthen its delivery capabilities, expand business, and broaden customer base in this market.

Vietnam, South Korea on track to reach $150 billion in bilateral trade

Vietnam and South Korea will take drastic measures to increase bilateral trade to US$150 billion by 2030, according to a meeting between ministers of industry, trade and energy on December 7. The two ministers agreed to organize more events for the two business communities to exchange ideas and build cooperation.

South Korea and Vietnam pledged to improve partnerships in shipbuilding, textiles and garments, automobiles, minerals and rare earths, and clean energy.

Vietnamese athletes break two ASEAN records

Vietnamese athletes broke two regional records on the first day of the 2023 Southeast Asian Youth Athletics Championships. Runner Nguyen Hoang Thinh won the men's 3,000m race in eight minutes and 59.04 seconds, breaking the record set in 2017. Meanwhile, Nguyen Thanh Nhan secured the men's hammer throw title with a throw of 59.49m, breaking the record set seven years ago.

On the first day of the sporting event, Vietnam won one gold, eight silver and two bronze medals. The Youth Athletics Championships is underway in Thailand from December 7 to 12.
