Vietnam, Canada strengthen defense cooperation

The third Vietnam-Canada Defense Policy Dialogue was held in Hanoi on February 20, focusing on strengthening bilateral defense ties. Key objectives include boosting cooperation in UN peacekeeping, defense industry, war legacy resolution, and border management. Vietnam supports Canada's ADMM+ bid based on ASEAN consensus and reiterates its stance on peaceful resolution of the East Sea disputes in accordance with international law, including UNCLOS 1982.

Vietnam accelerates digital innovation to drive economic growth

Vietnam is emerging as a leader in digital innovation, driven by a fast-growing economy, a tech-savvy young population, and strong government initiatives. The country aims for the digital economy to contribute 20% of GDP by 2025 and 30% by 2030. Key areas of focus include AI and IoT integration, nationwide 5G coverage, digital skills development, and enhanced cybersecurity.

Danang intensifies tourism promotion in the Indian market

The central city of Danang inaugurated a joint booth at the South Asia Travel and Tourism Exchange (SATTE) 2025, held at the Yashobhoomi International Convention and Expo Center in New Delhi from February 19-21. The event attracts over 50,000 participants from more than 120 countries. Danang's participation aims to strengthen its tourism appeal in India, focusing on meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE), golf and wedding tourism.

Vietjet Air wins global recognition for HR excellence

Vietjet Air has won three international HR awards at the 33rd World HRD Congress in Mumbai, India: "Dream Company to Work For", "Best Corporate Social Responsibility Practices", and "Global Best Employer Brand". The airline, which boasts a multicultural workforce of more than 6,000 employees from over 50 countries, was recognized for its effective HR management, sustainable ESG practices, and integration of AI into its operations.

Countries support Vietnam's leadership in global cybersecurity efforts

Countries have pledged their support for Vietnam to successfully host the signing ceremony of the UN Convention on Cybercrime in Hanoi in 2025. At a UN seminar in New York, Vietnam's Ambassador to the UN, Dang Hoang Giang, highlighted the global importance of the Convention for cybersecurity. UNODC and OLA representatives pledged continued cooperation with Vietnam to ensure effective implementation of the Convention.

Nam Dinh to invest US$98 million in three industrial clusters

The northern province of Nam Dinh decided on February 20 to establish three industrial clusters: Yen Chau, Kim Thai and Hop Hung, with a total area of 197.54 hectares. With a total investment of US$98.4 million, they will focus on industries such as mechanics, food processing, handicrafts, and material production. The aim is to make Nam Dinh an important industrial center in the southern Red River Delta.

International searches for Vietnam tourism increase in early 2025

According to Google, international searches for Vietnam rose by 15% - 30% in January 2025 compared to the end of November 2024. In early February 2025, the numbers increased by 30% - 45%. The US had the highest search volume, followed by Australia and India.

Vietnam holds 2025 Science and Technology Awards for students

The Ministry of Education and Training is organizing the 2025 Science and Technology Awards for university students. The awards cover six fields: Natural Sciences, Engineering, Medical Sciences, Agriculture, Social Sciences, and Humanities. Applications will be accepted from May 30 to June 30, 2025.
