Stricter quality control needed for Vietnamese agricultural and seafood exports to Europe

Vietnam is advised to comply with Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) regulations to meet Europe's strict export standards at the conference "Strengthening Compliance with European Food Safety Rules" on February 24. Local authorities must improve the quality of Vietnamese products by strictly monitoring production and packaging processes, ensuring traceability, and protecting the reputation of Vietnamese goods.

Vietnam auto sales growth highest in Southeast Asia 

Vietnam sold 494,310 vehicles in 2024, a growth of 22% - the highest in Southeast Asia. The Philippines followed with 11% growth, while Thailand's sales fell 26% due to an economic slowdown. VinFast led the way with a 149% increase in sales.

Kien Giang approves plan to establish Tho Chau Island District

The southern province of Kien Giang has approved the plan to establish Tho Chau Island District, located southwest of Phu Quoc. The district covers an area of 13.98 square kilometers, consists of eight islands near international shipping routes, and borders the seas of Cambodia and Thailand. Tho Chau is of strategic economic, defense and security importance. Local authorities aim to establish an appropriate management model to effectively utilize the island's resources.

Flood and landslide warning for Danang and Phu Yen

Vietnamese authorities warned of possible flash floods and landslides in Danang, Phu Yen, and Dak Lak on the morning of February 24, especially in small rivers and steep slopes. Heavy rains in these areas could pose a threat to citizens' livelihoods, disrupt transportation, and affect production and economic activities.

Vietnam Airlines targets 25.4 million passengers in 2025

Vietnam Airlines aims to earn over $3.7 billion in 2025, up 14% from 2024, by serving 25.4 million passengers and operating 156,000 flights. The airline plans to acquire 50 narrow-body aircraft and invest in major airport projects to expand into key markets and enhance its competitiveness.

Foxconn invests $50 million for 25% stake in Goertek Electronics Vietnam

New Wing Interconnect Technology, a Foxconn subsidiary in Bac Giang, will invest $50 million for a 25% stake in Goertek Electronics Vietnam. Both companies supply global brands such as Samsung and Apple. Foxconn, the largest FDI firm in Bac Giang, has invested $2.2 billion in 11 projects, employing 80,000 workers, with plans to hire 17,000 more in the first quarter.

CGV cinemas earn over US$441,000 per day

CGV Vietnam surpassed pre-pandemic levels by 12%, with revenues reaching US$161.28 million, averaging over US$441,000 per day. This is CGV Vietnam's highest profit ever, beating the previous record of US$138.6 million in 2019. Vietnam is one of CJ CGV's best-performing markets, ahead of countries such as Indonesia and Turkey. In 2025, the company plans to invest more in facilities, services and marketing to boost revenue and market share.
