Prime Minister attends Davos Forum, promotes ASEAN cooperation and green energy

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh arrived in Zurich, Switzerland on January 20 to attend the 55th World Economic Forum (WEF) Davos and engage in bilateral activities. He will participate in discussions on ASEAN cooperation, digital transformation and green energy during the event, which is themed "Cooperation in the Smart Era".

Vietnam highlights sustainable agriculture and climate action at Francophone Forum

The Francophone Parliamentary Forum on Sustainable Agriculture, Food Security and Climate Change, hosted by Vietnam, adopted the Cantho Declaration on January 21. The declaration underscores the commitment of Francophone nations to strengthen agricultural cooperation, ensure food security, and address climate challenges. Speaking at the event, Tran Thanh Man, Chairman of the Vietnamese National Assembly, emphasized the importance of joint action for sustainable development within the Francophone community.

Government allocates rice aid to support citizens during Lunar New Year

Vietnam's Ministry of Finance will allocate 2,520 tons of rice from national reserves to Ha Giang, Cao Bang, Ninh Thuan, Dak Lak, Kon Tum, Bac Kan and Dak Nong. The aid is intended to support citizens during the 2025 Lunar New Year and post-harvest period, and its free distribution must be timely and equitable.

Digital technology sector sees significant growth in revenue and employment

Vietnam had 73,788 digital technology enterprises in 2024, up 10.1% from 2023, employing nearly 1.26 million people. Total revenue reached nearly $158 billion, up 10.2%, with after-tax profits estimated at $11.1 billion, contributing $1.76 billion to the state budget.

Hanoi leads Vietnam in 2024 budget revenue with $21.4 billion

Hanoi led Vietnam in 2024 budget revenue, reaching VND512 trillion ($21.4 billion), up 23% from 2023, with domestic revenue accounting for 94% of all revenue collected in the city. All 30 districts exceeded their tax and fee collection targets. This achievement highlights Hanoi's economic recovery, sustainable development, and strong support from its nearly 400,000 businesses.
