Vietnam Airlines' international passenger traffic impressive in H1  

Vietnamese airlines carried nearly nine million international passengers in the first half of the year, up 28% year-on-year, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV). Thanks to this figure, Vietnamese airlines currently account for 44% of the international passenger traffic market share. CAAV also reported that the total airport throughput reached more than 54 million passengers between January and June, representing 97% of last year's figure.

Ho Chi Minh City Economic Forum 2024 to kick off next September

The Ho Chi Minh City Economic Forum 2024 (HEF 2024), themed "Industrial Transformation: Experiences and Priorities in Development Cooperation," is scheduled to run on September 24-27. The forum will discuss several key issues, namely the major trends of industrial transformation in the world, policies to promote industrial transformation, and Ho Chi Minh City's industrial transformation strategy in the context of international integration. The event is expected to attract 1,200 business executives and organization representatives.

Vietnam's seafood products maintain position in Singapore's market

Statistics in the first half of 2024 show that for the first time, Vietnam's seafood products maintained its position as the fifth largest partner in Singapore for the second consecutive quarter.

According to the Vietnam Trade Office in Singapore, Vietnam's fishery (frozen fillets and processed fish) exports to this country in H1 reached US$1.7 million, accounting for a market share of 9.46%. 

Vietnam's clam and oyster exports to China up 120 times

Vietnam's exports of clams and oysters to China have rocketed to VND68.4 billion (US$2.7 million) between January and May, nearly 120 times the value of the same period last year, according to Vietnam's Ministry of Industry and Trade. In addition, exports of other live, fresh, or chilled mollusks also increased significantly, totaling over VND126.6 billion (US$5 million).

Vietnam wins six medals and awards at International Mathematical Olympiad

Six Vietnamese students won medals and certificates on July 20: two silver, three bronze, and one certificate of merit at the 2024 International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) in the UK. The silver medalists are Tran Duy (12th grade, HNUE High School, Hanoi) and Tran Minh Hoang (11th grade, Ha Tinh Specialized High School). The bronze medalists are Pham Tran Minh Duc (12th grade, Tran Phu High School, Hai Phong), Nguyen Dang Dung (11th grade, HUS High School for Gifted Students, Hanoi), and Nguyen Van Hoang (12th grade, Bac Ninh Specialized High School). Ta Duc Anh (12th grade, HNUE High School, Hanoi) received a Certificate of Merit.

Seminar honors over 500 journalist martyrs in Vietnam's history

A seminar titled "Colors of Memory" was held in Hanoi to pay tribute to over 500 martyred Vietnamese journalists for their bravery and sacrifice in nearly 100 years of revolutionary journalism. The event, which commemorated the 77th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day and looked ahead to the 100th anniversary of Vietnam's revolutionary press (2025), highlighted the enduring ideals and challenges faced by journalists.
