Vietnam, Mongolia strengthen ties
Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen and General Secretary of the ruling Mongolian People's Party Yangug Sodbaatar pledged on July 4 to strengthen traditional ties and expand cooperation between Vietnam and Mongolia. They agreed to maintain high-level exchanges, and effectively celebrate the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2024. The focus will be on strategic cooperation in economy, trade, and investment, as well as expanding people-to-people exchanges.

 

Vietnam attends ASEAN-China Ministerial Roundtable on Construction and Housing
The Vietnamese delegation, led by Deputy Minister of Construction Bui Tien Dung, is attending the ASEAN-China Construction Ministerial Roundtable on Construction and Housing (ACMROCH) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from July 3-5. The event aims to promote cooperation between ASEAN and China on sustainable urban development in response to the challenges posed by climate change.

Speaking at the event, Dung said the Vietnamese government has proactively approached and integrated tasks and solutions to build a climate-resilient urban area system and highlighted experiences sharing.

Hanoi spends US$47 million supporting people with merits to the nation
In the first half of 2024, Hanoi allocated about VND1.3 trillion (US$47 million) in grants to people with meritorious services to the nation. Among them, about VND1 trillion (US$39 million) was given to 80,000 people with dedicated merits, and VND35 billion (US$1.3 million) for Tet gifts.

The 2024 Northeastern Ethnic Festival to take place in November
The 11th Northeastern Ethnic Culture, Sports, and Tourism Festival will be held in the northern province of Lang Son from November 2 to 4. The event, themed "Northeastern Culture - Identity, Integration, and Development," will celebrate traditional values and promote cultural heritage and tourism among eight provinces.

Tay Ninh forest rangers release endangered animals
Two Java pangolins (Manis javanica) and three wild monkeys were released back into their natural habitat on July 4 by Tay Ninh Forest Rangers. The released animals included pangolins weighing 3.1 kg and 0.5 kg, and three monkeys: one long-tailed macaque (6 kg) and two pig-tailed macaques (13 kg and 6 kg). The endangered Java pangolins were surrendered by locals, and three wild monkeys were previously captured for causing disturbance. These actions were in accordance with regulations to protect endangered species.

Quang Binh Tourism Week to draw numerous visitors 

The first-ever Quang Binh Tourism Week will take place on July 6-17 with various cultural and artistic activities, giving the central province a chance to promote its image as a natural, attractive, and unique destination to numerous domestic and foreign tourists.

Throughout the week, new tourism products and services will be showcased at local tourism sites, and local destinations and cuisines will be featured on a digital platform.

Vietnamese language teaching boosted in Taiwan

The Vietnamese Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei on July 4 launched a week-long Vietnamese language training course for Vietnamese teachers and a Vietnamese bookshelf in Taiwan (China).

The training will provide valuable guidance to nearly 40 Vietnamese language teachers from various levels of Taiwan's education system, taught by two lecturers from Hanoi National University of Education.

Japanese businesses seek stronger ties with Nam Dinh 

A delegation of Japanese businesses, the Vietnamese Consulate General in Osaka, and associations paid a working visit to Vietnam's northern province of Nam Dinh on July 4 to explore cooperation opportunities in investment, health, culture, and people-to-people exchanges. 

Nam Dinh has actively upgraded transport infrastructure to boost its connectivity with airports and seaports. The province is strongly promoting administrative reform by reducing and simplifying administrative procedures to create favorable conditions for businesses. 
16th National Radio Festival to run next week
The 16th National Radio Festival is scheduled to run from July 9 to 14, attracting the participation of 81 units, with 380 works in 6 genres, including reportage, thematic programs, interviews, ethnic language radio programs, radio stories, and live radio broadcast programs. Of this, 228 excellent works were selected for the final round.
