First-ever exhibition on Vietnamese Advertising Design Art underway

The Vietnamese Advertising Design Art Exhibition will take place at the Fine Arts Exhibition House, 16 Ngo Quyen Street, Hanoi, until June 24. The event gathers 56 professional artists - members of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association, lecturers, and students from art and design schools.

The exhibition showcases outstanding advertising designs and posters from recent years. This is the first event on Vietnamese advertising design art organized by the Vietnam Fine Arts Association.

Vietnam's traditional Ao Dai and tourism products made a strong impression on visitors at a Consulates General Festival held in France on June 15-16.

Under the theme "Bonjour Vietnam!", the Vietnamese stand attracted a large number of visitors interested in tourism packages, exploring the country's landscapes through films and photos and Dong Ho folk paintings, and playing traditional Vietnamese musical instruments.

Vietnam’s first university program trains generative Al engineers

Hanoi University of Science and Technology on June 15 launched the Generative Al (GenAl) Engineer Program, the first training model in Vietnam. This specialized learning engineering program lasts 1.5 years and accepts students who have already graduated with a bachelor's degree in fields related to information technology.

Vietnam nominates first ITLOS judge candidate

Nguyen Thi Lan Anh, Director of the East Sea Institute at the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam (DAV), has been nominated as Vietnam's first candidate for the position of judge at the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (ITLOS) for the term 2026-2035. Vietnam announced the nomination during the 34th Meeting of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) held at the UN headquarters in New York on June 10-14.

Local public security forces nationwide launched on July 1

On July 1, the forces participating in protecting public security and order at the grassroots level will be launched nationwide, in accordance with the Law on Forces Participating in the Protection of Security and Order at the Grassroots Level. This force is consolidated from the existing three forces, including community security guards, part-time communal police, and squad leaders and deputy squad leaders of the self-defense militia.

Exports of camera equipment and components soar 59% in Jan-May

The General Department of Vietnam Customs has identified camera, camcorder and component exports as the best performing group, earning $3.58 billion in revenue, up 59% year-on-year. China remained the largest importer of these products, accounting for over US$2.2 billion in the first five months of this year, rocketing 96% year-on-year. The US is the second largest market with $419 million, up 23%.

Hanoi: Nearly US$945,000 lost in online gold investment scam

Hanoi Police recently received a report from a victim who claimed to have lost VND24 billion (nearly US$945,000) after joining an online gold investment scheme. The agency urges the public to be wary of friend requests from strangers on social media, be cautious when accepting calls from unknown phone numbers, and carefully consider their options before joining financial investment groups. They advise against using financial investment applications or international trading platforms that advertise high interest rates, as these may be scams designed to defraud.
