Vietnamese textiles and garments impress in Australia

The stand of Vietnam's textile and garment products at the Global Sourcing Expo Australia 2023, organized by the Vietnam Trade Office, attracted the attention of many visitors, importers and distributors from 20 countries worldwide.

The event showcased a wide range of products and services, including textiles, footwear, hats, balls, and backpacks. It was held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre in Melbourne from November 21 to 23.

VNG Corporation plans to launch a free AI system designed for Vietnamese speakers as a new business line. The Vietnamese tech unicorn, backed by Tencent and Alibaba's Ant Group, owns Zalo - a popular messaging application in Vietnam that surpasses Facebook regarding users. In an August filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), VNG said it was building a Vietnamese language model for "content creation, language translation, and chatbot innovation."

Russian scholar honored for outstanding literary works

The Embassy of Vietnam in the Russian Federation honored Anatoly Sokolov Alekseevich, academician of the Oriental Studies Department of the Russian Academy of Sciences, with the medal "For Vietnamese Literature" on November 21. Anatoly is among the scholars who have greatly contributed to translating Russian literary articles and poems into Vietnamese, helping people understand the deep relations between the two countries.

Vietnam Local Specialties Fair 2023 underway in Hanoi

The Hanoi Promotion Agency (HPA) today opened the Vietnam Local Specialties Fair 2023 at Vincom Mega Mall Commercial Center, 72A Nguyen Trai Street, Thanh Xuan District, Hanoi. 

The four-day fair showcases Vietnamese specialties and products from foreign countries via embassies and foreign organizations in Hanoi. A culinary area is opened to highlight regional specialties, and a separate area for product demonstrations promoting tourism and culture.

Vietnamese schoolchildren win global robotics competition in Singapore

Students from Pacific International College in the southern city of Cantho have won the Global Robotics Games 2023 in the primary category. They were followed by students from Wellspring Hanoi and Eureka Academy in Hue. Other Vietnamese teams were also among the top 10.

The competition is organized by the non-profit program Developing Innovative Youth and the Singaporean Science Center in Singapore from November 15 to 17. In its first edition, the competition gathered 250 teams from six nations.
