Vietnam accelerates shift to electric vehicles and reduce oil dependence

Vietnam is poised to shift from gasoline to electric vehicles, aiming for 50% electrification of urban transport by 2030 and 100% by 2050. As the world's second largest e-scooter market, the adoption of electric vehicles is accelerating. This shift could save Vietnam $498 billion in oil imports by 2050, but will require $9 billion by 2030 and $14 billion annually thereafter for grid upgrades and charging infrastructure.

Quang Nam to host first UN conference on rural tourism

The central province of Quang Nam will host the first United Nations Conference on Tourism for Rural Development on December 10, with some 300 delegates expected to attend. The conference will focus on sustainable rural tourism development, empowering and involving local communities in tourism initiatives, and protecting natural and cultural resources. From December 9-11, various side events will be held, including tours, cultural showcases and the annual meeting.

Exhibition celebrates contributions of ethnic minorities to Ho Chi Minh City's development

An exhibition honoring the contributions of ethnic minorities to the development of Ho Chi Minh City opened in the southern city on November 22. Held on the occasion of the 4th Congress of Ethnic Minority Delegates in 2024, the event features 83 works depicting ethnic communities' affection for President Ho Chi Minh, the city's support for these groups, and highlights from previous congresses. The exhibition is open to the public until December 6.

Ninh Binh displays tourism potential at conference in Japan

The northern province of Ninh Binh promoted its tourism potential at a conference in Japan on November 22. The event aimed to attract Japanese tourists, boost business cooperation and strengthen cultural exchanges, thereby enhancing Ninh Binh's role in Vietnam's national tourism strategy. The province appeals to tourists with its UNESCO-listed Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex, stunning caves and vibrant cultural heritage.

Samsung launches initiative to enhance youth's technology skills

The Samsung Innovation Campus 2024-2025 was launched on November 22, aiming to enhance the technology skills of Vietnamese youth aged 12-22. The program offers courses on AI, IoT, big data, and programming, combining technical and soft skills. With both online and offline training, it targets 6,600 participants nationwide.

Animation festival celebrates Vietnam's cinematic milestones

The inaugural Aspiration Animation Festival kicked off in Hanoi on November 22, celebrating 65 years of Vietnamese animation. With 20 events throughout November, the festival showcases Vietnam's animation history, technological advancements, and collaborations with France. Highlights include free screenings, workshops, and the inaugural Aspiration Animation Awards, recognizing excellence in scripts, characters, and films. Over a thousand people have participated in the festival's activities.
