Vietnam to develop innovation clusters

Vietnam should develop innovation clusters and form clusters for industries and sectors to take advantage of the national strategy for science, technology and innovation, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Hoang Minh suggested at the National Forum on Developing Vietnam's Innovation Startup Center System held in Ho Chi Minh City on November 24. The event was part of the National Innovation and Entrepreneurship Festival (Techfest 2023). The Innovation Cluster Index is a very important indicator in the Global Innovation Index report.

Techfest's National Innovation and Startup Talent Search Competition has found its winner, BUYO Bioplastics, which offers a 100% nature-based and biodegradable bioplastic solution. The product is designed to completely decompose in natural environments, is safe for health, and reduces carbon emissions. BUYO Bioplastics will represent Vietnam in international competitions in South Korea, the US, Australia, Singapore, and Europe.

The competition aims to promote innovative solutions from startups, attract resources from experts, intellectuals, domestic entrepreneurs, and overseas Vietnamese, and promote the innovative startup ecosystem.


UK ranks 15th in FDI in Vietnam with US$4.28 billion


According to a report by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, as of October 20, the UK conducted 550 projects in Vietnam with a total investment of US$4.28 billion, ranking 15th among 143 countries and territories investing in Vietnam. These investment projects include manufacturing, processing, renewable energy, finance and banking, real estate, retail, education, and healthcare. The UK is the 9th largest export market in the world and the 4th largest in Europe for Vietnam.

Opening of "Hanoi's Charm" Cultural Week at Noi Bai Airport

A cultural week with the theme "Hanoi's Charm" was opened on November 24 at Noi Bai International Airport's passenger terminals 1 and 2. The event will last until November 30. The opening ceremony of the cultural week featured artisans specializing in embroidery from Quat Dong Village, toy sculptors from Phu Xuyen District, conical hat makers from Chuong Village, and pottery craftsmen from Bat Trang Village.

On November 24, the opening ceremony of "Hanoi Midnight Sale" 2023 was held at Big C Thang Long Supermarket, Cau Giay District. The two-day event attracted over 200 enterprises, commercial centers, supermarkets, production and business chains, concentrated in 5-10 shopping malls, e-commerce platforms, and enterprises' websites.


Information and Communication Industry Media Network established 

The Ministry of Information and Communications announced on November 24 the establishment of the Information and Communications Industry Media Network, which connects the ministry's agencies with the media. Nearly 80 journalists and reporters from more than 50 media agencies are participating in the network, which will make a significant contribution to the communication work.
