Zalo leads Vietnam's domestic social media user base

As of June 30, Vietnam recorded 110 million accounts on domestic social media platforms, with Zalo leading the list with 76.5 million users, the Ministry of Information and Communications reported on November 28. Meanwhile, international platforms account for about 203 million users, led by Facebook (72 million), YouTube (63 million), and TikTok (67 million).

Romanian Embassy hosts painting contest for Vietnamese youth

The Romanian Embassy in Vietnam has launched a nationwide painting contest for children aged 6-15 to celebrate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Romania and Vietnam. The deadline for submissions is January 16, 2025, at the Romanian Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City, and the winning artworks will be on display at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum from February 22 to 27, 2025.

Nha Trang Festival highlights Vietnam's golf potential 

The Vietnam Golf Festival - Nha Trang 2024, themed “Brilliant Green,” is now underway in Nha Trang City, Khanh Hoa Province, attracting 280 participants. Highlights include the Vietnam Golf Festival Championship, cultural activities, exhibitions and galas. The festival celebrates Vietnam's golf potential and positions Nha Trang as a leading destination for golf tourism, combining sport, culture and international engagement. The event runs through tomorrow (November 29).

Vietnam exports over 219,000 tons of pepper

From January to mid-November, Vietnam exported nearly 220,000 tons of pepper, earning nearly US$1.2 billion. Average export prices were about US$4,970 per ton for black pepper and US$6,630 per ton for white pepper. The United States was the largest importer, accounting for 29% (about 64,000 tons). During the same period, Vietnam imported about 28,600 tons of pepper valued at US$146 million, mainly from Indonesia (36%), Brazil (32%), and Cambodia (23%).

Summit fosters collaboration for smart city innovation

The Vietnam-Asia Smart City Summit 2024, themed "Smart Cities - Digital Economy - Sustainable Development," will be held in Hanoi on December 2-3, attracting more than 2,000 participants. The event will highlight innovative solutions and strategic partnerships for smart city development, fostering sustainable urban growth and advanced technologies such as AI, IoT, and NetZero initiatives.

Night tourism event revives Hanoi's cultural heritage

The Hanoi Night Tourism Promotion Program 2024, themed "Truc Bach Night", runs from tomorrow (November 29) to December 1. Held in the Dao Ngoc - Ngu Xa culinary and pedestrian area, the event recreates Vietnamese life during the subsidy era with immersive experiences such as workshops, street performances, and the debut of Tram Line 6. The event celebrates Hanoi's cultural heritage through unique culinary themes, interactive exhibits and scenic views of Truc Bach Lake.
