Vietnam welcomes over 11.2 million foreign visitors in Jan-Nov

Vietnam has been estimated to welcome over 11.2 million international tourists in the first 11 months of this year, according to the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism. International visitors to Vietnam increased by 3.8 times against the previous year and accounted for 68.9% of the same period in 2019. The largest international tourist markets include South Korea, China, Taiwan (China), the US, Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, India, Australia, and Cambodia. 

HCM City hosts circuit design competition 

The first Circuit Design Competition for students nationwide is currently taking place and will run until June 2024. The annual competition organized by the Management Board of Ho Chi Minh City Hi-Tech Park aims to connect interested parties for ideas, projects, and research topics. The implementation and training phase will take place from January to May 2024. Participants can register at https://bit.ly/ICDesign-dangky.

Vietnam to complete employment position plan in Q2 2024

The National Assembly has requested the Government complete the employment position plan for administrative agencies and public career organizations in Q2/2024 to reform salary policies. The plan was part of a resolution passed by policymakers on November 29 during the closing session of the 15th National Assembly's 6th plenary meeting. The Government plans to put the salary policy reform plan into effect on July 1, 2024.

Hanoi’s Thien Y Environment Energy JSC has been granted permission to conduct environmental protection activities for the Soc Son Waste-to-Energy Plant in the Nam Son Waste Treatment Complex, Nam Son Commune, Soc Son District, Hanoi. The 90-megawatt plant, with an investment of VND7 trillion (US$299.2 million), has a capacity of 4,000 tons of dry waste per day and night.

Vietnam Rice Industry Association established

Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Vu Chien Thang has signed a decision to establish the Vietnam Rice Industry Association. The organization is expected to create linkages in the rice industry that would benefit farmers and businesses in the long term.

Recognition of two potential national digital platforms 

MobiEdu, an online learning platform, and MEET, an online meeting platform, have been recognized as potential national digital platforms, as announced by the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC). These solutions have fully met the requirements based on the criteria set by the MIC and the evaluation for national digital platforms. This is part of the plan to develop 15 national digital platforms to support small and medium-sized enterprises in digital transformation.
