Exhibition “Korea, Freedom, and Openness” opens in Hanoi

Thirty-six art pieces depicting the landscapes and people of South Korea by seven artists from Gwangju City are on display at the exhibition “Korea, Freedom, and Openness” until November 30 at the Vietnam National Fine Arts Museum (66 Nguyen Thai Hoc, Ba Dinh, Hanoi). As part of the exhibition, an Art Talk event took place today [November 4], facilitating an exchange between Korean artists and the audience.

Vietnam among three major players at the World Food India expo

 

Vietnam is one of three Focus Countries at the 2023 World Food India expo, from November 3 to November 5. Covering an area of 200m2, 30 Vietnamese companies display their locally-made food and agricultural products. According to the Vietnamese Ambassador to India Nguyen Thanh Hai, the Indian food market is vast and has potential. The expo is an excellent opportunity for Vietnamese producers and exporters to tap into the most-populated market in the world.

The 2023 World Food India expo, the second edition, attracts 200 speakers, 600 delegates, and representatives of 1,200 organizations and enterprises from 19 nations, participating in more than 50 meetings and conferences. 

South Korean schools to enroll foreign students from Vietnam

Nine high schools from Kyungbuk Region, South Korea will receive students from Vietnam, Mongolia, Thailand and Indonesia in 2024, marking its first time to enroll foreign students. Vietnamese authorities have instructed the schools to prepare for enrollment and help Vietnamese students settle down in the country.

South Korea has signed some agreements with the four said nations to support the schools in the enrollment of foreign students. In Kyungbuk, the number of students has dropped to some 250,000 in 2022 from 330,000 in 2012.

Cultural Heritage Week to be held in November

The "Great Unity of Ethnic Groups - Vietnamese Cultural Heritage" week will take place from November 22-26 at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Cultural and Tourism in Hanoi, aiming to attract tourists. Activities include an opening ceremony of the event, a festival showcasing exhibitions on cultural heritage, festivals, and tourism. An exhibition of photos titled "Colors of Vietnamese Ethnic Groups" will be opened within the event.

 

Vietnam chairs discussion on macro policies, poverty reduction

The Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand Phan Chi Thanh on November 3 chaired the final discussion of the 4th session of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific’s Committee on Macroeconomic Policy, Poverty Reduction and Financing for Development. Ambassador Thanh is also the Permanent Representative of Vietnam to the ESCAP.

Under his chairmanship, the discussion came up with six recommendations and two decisions that assist member nations in improving their capability in sustainable finance and public debt, facilitate joint efforts between regional countries to resolve macroeconomic issues, and improve government-level talks to deal with sustainable finance problems.

Exhibition highlighting Vietnamese cultural heritage to take place in Ninh Binh

An exhibition showcasing the Vietnamese cultural heritage spaces and traditional handicrafts through materials, artifacts, and over 200 beautiful photos of heritage will take place from November 13-19 in the province of Ninh Binh. Visitors can purchase traditional handicrafts, wooden and gemstone products, consumer goods, agricultural products, One Commune One Product (OCOP) products, and ornamental plants from various craft villages and businesses.
