Vietnam and Canada seek closer cooperation in key areas

Vietnam is seeking to strengthen cooperation with Canada, as discussed at a meeting between National Assembly Vice Chairman Nguyen Đuc Hai and Canadian Ambassador to Vietnam Perry Shawn Steil on November 4. Hai highlighted the positive strides made in bilateral relations, particularly in the areas of legislation, security, trade and education. Canada pledged to help Vietnam develop an electronic parliament, share monitoring expertise, and promote peaceful solutions to maritime disputes.

190 enterprises awarded Vietnam National Brand 2024 

At a ceremony attended by Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chinh on November 4, 190 enterprises were awarded the Vietnam National Brand 2024.  These companies generated US$95 billion in revenue, contributed US$6 billion to the state budget, and created 600,000 jobs, supporting Vietnam's sustainable development.

US$5 billion fund launched to boost sustainable urban growth in Vietnam

A US$5 billion fund was jointly launched by the World Bank and Switzerland on November 4 to support sustainable urban development in Vietnam. The initiative, financed by the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), will support cities such as Ho Chi Minh City, the central city of Danang, and the southern city of Cantho in adopting sustainable solutions, strengthening climate resilience, and diversifying investment sources.

Nearly 400 players compete in Hanoi table tennis tournament

The 11th Hanoi Moi Open Table Tennis Tournament will run from November 7 at Hanoi's Trinh Hoai Duc Gymnasium, with nearly 400 players from 68 teams competing in 12 categories. The event, with prize money raised to VND150 million (US$6,100), promises intense competition as it features top national players such as Nguyen Duc Tuan, Nguyen Dang Hiep and Nguyen Duy Phong.

Vietnamese Business Association in Belgium established to strengthen business ties

The Vietnamese Business Association in Belgium (VBAB) was launched on November 3 at the Vietnamese Embassy in Brussels, aiming to connect Vietnamese entrepreneurs and foster sustainable business cooperation. With the support of the embassy and other organizations, VBAB seeks to strengthen economic ties between Vietnam and Belgium.

Vietnam confers professor and associate professor titles on 615 educators

In 2024, Vietnam conferred the titles of professor and associate professor on 615 candidates, including 45 for professor and 570 for associate professor, or 76.59% of the 803 applicants. The selection process, overseen by Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son, emphasized fairness, quality, and transparency, with candidates demonstrating remarkable foreign language skills and having their research published in prestigious international journals.

VinFast supports green public transport in Mexico

VinFast signed a strategic agreement with the Durango Drivers and Workers Union in Mexico on November 4 to support green public transportation, including a potential order of 3,000 VF 5 electric cars and 300 electric buses. This partnership aims to install charging infrastructure and replace gasoline-powered vehicles, driving green transportation and expanding VinFast's global EV footprint.
