Khanh Hoa expands tourism market in Central Asia

About 200 leading sales agents from Kazakhstan and other countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) visited Vietnam to survey tourist destinations on Nha Trang Beach in the southern province of Khanh Hoa from September 9 to 17.

The survey aims to explore tourism potential, develop tour programs and attract more visitors from the Central Asian market in the winter tourism season of 2023-2024 and the following years.

"Happy Vietnamese" course for Russian-Vietnamese children ends

On September 10, the "Happy Vietnamese" program was closed in Russia. The course was designed to help overseas Vietnamese children in Russia learn Vietnamese language and cultural features during the summer. Most of the students are second and third generation Vietnamese born and raised in Russia.

The training course was organized by the Vietnamese Communist Youth Union in Russia under the auspices of the Vietnamese Embassy in Russia.

Vietnamese billiards player wins 3-Cushion World Cup for the first time

Billiard player Bao Phuong Vinh defeated his compatriot Tran Quyet Chien on September 10 to become the first Vietnamese to win the 75th World Three-cushion Billiard Championship with a cash prize of US$20,000. This is the first time that two Vietnamese players competed for the World Championship in 3-cushion billiards. Vietnamese players won second place in the 2019 edition and third place in the 2017 and 2018 editions.

Hanoi forms task force to develop Red River Delta region

Hanoi has set up a task force to work with other provinces and cities in the Red River Delta to facilitate sustainable, long-term, environmentally friendly and safe growth in the region. The director of the Hanoi Department of Planning and Investment will head the task force, which will assist the chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee in implementing regional development activities.

First "Children's National Assembly" simulation organized

More than 263 children representing 63 cities and provinces in Vietnam participated in the first "Children's National Assembly" simulation session on September 10. The forum aims to promote the role and responsibility of Vietnamese children in solving problems that affect them.

It focused on two topics: ensuring the protection of children in the social network and preventing child abuse, harassment and violence. Their ideas and comments will be reported to ministries and the National Assembly for consideration.

Vietnam, US firms partner for better health treatment 

The Tam Anh Research Institute (TAMRI) and US-based Stanford Medicine's ViRx@Stanford will implement four projects in Vietnam to promote microbiological science, develop AI solutions to treat infectious diseases such as dengue, improve healthcare services, and provide better treatment for Hepatitis D.

The partnership between TAMRI and ViRx@Stanford is one of a series of partnerships between Vietnamese and US firms during US President Joe Biden's state visit to Vietnam.

VSIC 2023 kicks off

The Vietnam Social Innovation Challenge (VSIC) 2023, the national social entrepreneurship competition for young people, was officially launched in Ho Chi Minh City on September 10. The competition aims to support the realization of entrepreneurial ideas on social issues and improve the quality of life in Vietnam.

Outstanding ideas selected from previous rounds will be awarded at the competition's awards ceremony on December 16, 2023.

Vietnam joins EEF2023 in Russia

A Vietnamese delegation led by Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Do Thanh Trung is attending the ongoing 8th Eastern Economic Forum (EEF 2023) in Vladivostok, Russia.

The event, which runs until September 13, focuses on generating ideas and initiatives to build a dynamic economic region in Asia-Pacific and Southeast Asia.

Vietnam is a stable destination for investment: Bellecapital

Vietnam is considered a stable investment destination, according to Swiss investment fund Bellecapital, which praised the country's hardworking workforce, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit. Notably, Vietnamese workers strive to accumulate wealth or borrow additional capital to start their own businesses.

The fund's experts highlighted Vietnam's advantages and investor-friendly policies.
