President of Guinea-Bissau to visit Vietnam

Guinea-Bissau President Umaro Sissoco Embaló and his wife will pay an official visit to Vietnam from September 5 to 8 at the invitation of General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President To Lam and his wife. Vietnam and Guinea-Bissau established bilateral diplomatic relations on September 30, 1973.

Vietnamese embassies around the world hold National Day celebrations

Celebrations for Vietnam's National Day (September 2) were held by Vietnamese embassies in many countries, including Canada, Russia, Cuba, Thailand, Hungary, Poland, Bangladesh, and Japan. These events were attended by high-ranking guests, underlining Vietnam's prestige and growing position in the world, as well as its close ties with host nations.

Nanning-Ha Long passenger transport route inaugurated

On September 3, a fixed passenger route was officially launched between Nanning, China and Ha Long, Vietnam via the Bac Luan II Bridge. This cooperation between Chinese and Vietnamese companies aims to diversify the tourism products in Ha Long and boost the tourism development of the northern coast province of Quang Ninh.

Quang Binh steps up surveillance ahead of EC inspection

The central province of Quang Binh has stepped up efforts to combat illegal fishing ahead of an upcoming inspection by the European Commission in October. Fisheries officials are now keeping a 24-hour watch on vessels via the Vessel Monitoring System (VMS), with strict penalties for those who lose contact for more than six hours or cross maritime borders.

Danang attracts 308,000 tourists during National Day holiday

The central city of Danang attracted 308,000 tourists during the National Day holiday (August 31-September 3), up 21.2% year-on-year. The city is estimated to earn an revenue of VND1.2 trillion (US$48 million), an increase of 33.8% over the same period last year.

Photography program celebrates Vietnam's beauty and heritage

The "Vietnam Tourism Through Photography" program was held in Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh Province on September 2. The event features more than 300 images showing Vietnam's beauty through cinema, promoting the country's cultural heritage and tourism potential. It also marked the launch of the "Tourism, Cinema and Sports - Proud Vietnamese Identity" program.

Quang Nam wins top award in Asia

Quang Nam's Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism was honored as "Asia's Leading Tourist Board" at the World Travel Awards (WTA) in Manila on September 3. It was the only Vietnamese nominee, beating out competitors such as Bali and Luang Prabang. In addition, Hoi An was named "Asia's Leading Cultural City Destination" for the fifth time and Hoiana Resort & Golf won "Asia's Leading Integrated Resort".

Russia ready for international friendly against Vietnam

Russia's national team (the world's 33rd), including Daler Kuzyaev and PSG Matvei Safonov will have an international friendly match against Vietnam at My Dinh National Stadium in Hanoi on September 5. The full squad will arrive in Vietnam this afternoon to settle in before having the official training session at the stadium. Coach Valery Karpin will hold a press conference after the team's training session. 

Exhibition highlights traditional Vietnamese culture through art

The "Radiant Moonlight Convergence" exhibition, held at the Temple of Literature from August 31 to September 17, showcases traditional Vietnamese culture through art. Organized by young artists, this multi-sensory experience highlights the beauty of Mid-Autumn Festival folklore, blending historical and contemporary elements. Visitors can engage in traditional crafts while immersing themselves in the enchanting atmosphere of this unique cultural event.

Miss Tourism Vietnam Global 2024 final to be held in Haiphong

The final of Miss Tourism Vietnam Global 2024 is slated to take place in the northern port city of Haiphong on September 21. The pageant celebrates the beauty of Vietnam and seeks candidates for international beauty pageants. The winner will represent Vietnam at Miss Supranational 2024, one of the biggest beauty pageants in the world. Meanwhile, the first runner-up will participate in Miss Globe 2024 on September 25 and the second runner-up will go to Miss Tourism World.

Vietnamese badminton player makes significant leap in world rankings

Vietnam's top male badminton player, Le Duc Phat, climbed seven places to reach world No. 61, gaining 4,000 points after winning the Lagos International Classics 2024 in Nigeria. Meanwhile, his teammate Nguyen Hai Dang climbed to 75th in the world.
