The president requires the Politburo, the country’s most powerful decision-making body, and the Party Central Committee to discuss thoroughly the personnel issues for the next Congress.

At the end of 2019, the Politburo approved the initial selection of 184 key officials for the 13th Congress. The personnel for the Congress will include re-elected members of the Central Party Committee.
