On May 31, the CAAV banned inbound passenger flights to Noi Bai International Airport from June 1 until June 7 and to Tan Son Nhat International Airport until June 14.

However, the CAAV suddenly overturned the decision as requested by the National Steering Committee for Covid-19 prevention and control, and the Ministry of Transport.

The CAAV sent an urgent dispatch this morning to airlines, the Southern Airport Authority, the HCMC People’s Committee, the city's Consular Department under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Immigration Department under the Ministry of Public Security notifying the resumption of inbound flights to Noi Bai and Tan Son Nhat airports.

A report from the Ministry of Health showed that Vietnam has confirmed 7,625 Covid-19 patients. Of the number, 4,549 Covid-19 cases have been detected since a new wave began in late April. So far, 3,043 patients have recovered and 48 died because of the disease.
