Vietnam resumes visa waiver from March 15

The latest move comes from the Government’s decision to fully reopens its borders to inbound tourism starting March 15.

Vietnam will impose visa exemption for arrivals from 13 countries from March 15, the same day the country opens its borders to international tourists.

Citizens of Belarus, Denmark, France, Finland, Japan, Italy, Germany, Norway, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Russia, the UK will be exempted from visa requirements upon their entry into Vietnam for a stay of 15 days from the date of entry, regardless of passport type and entry purpose.

The visa waiver program will be valid for three years until March 15, 2025 and will be considered for an extension in accordance with the Vietnamese regulations.

The move is aimed at fostering socio-economic recovery and international integration in the new normal, as well as luring more high-spending tourists.

Before the pandemic, Vietnam offered a unilateral visa exemption policy for the 13 aforementioned countries, which are the country's main tourism markets.

In addition, visitors from most ASEAN countries can stay in Vietnam for up to 30 days without a visa.
