Vietnam to strictly screen incoming air passengers

The airlines are responsible for checking the negative status for SARS-COV-2 of passengers when boarding.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) and the Department of Health Transport will be in charge of controlling incoming passengers when the country reopens regular international air routes to some countries.

The CAAV is assigned to seek agreements with its peers from China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan (China), Cambodia and Laos (including airlines) on the categories of passengers eligible for boarding, the immigration process and the conditions of Vietnam for entering the country such as: temperature check, health declaration app installation NCOVI, and papers certifying negative status for SARS-CoV-2.

The air carriers are requested to sells tickets only to people bearing entry visa and accommodation booking in Vietnam. Airlines are tasked with checking passengers’ certificate of negative status for SARS-CoV-2 issued by the competent authority of the host country.

The airline must send to the airport authority the list of expected passengers 12 hours prior to the scheduled departure time and the detailed list of the passengers 30 minutes before the exact departure time of the flight. 

For passengers transiting from a third country, the airline must arrange a separate cabin for these people, who do not sit near the incoming passengers from six locations: Tokyo (Japan), Seoul (South Korea), Guangzhou (China), Taipei (Taiwan, China), Phnom Penh (Cambodia) and Vientiane (Laos) and comply with preventive measures.
