General Secretary To Lam welcomed the delegation to Vietnam on occasion of the 30th anniversary of Vietnam-US diplomatic relations, and the second anniversary of two countries’ Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

He highly appreciated the role and contributions of US businesses, especially those in the USABC, in strengthening investment and trade ties between the two nations.

He pledged that Vietnam aims to deepen and expand its Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with the US, focusing on stable economic cooperation that benefits both nations' people and businesses while contributing to regional and global peace and prosperity.

General Secretary To Lam cherished that the development of Vietnam-US relations positively impacts US-ASEAN relations. He urged the USABC to support the unity, cooperation, and development among ASEAN member states, viewing ASEAN as a major market with significant potential and opportunities for American businesses.

Sharing Vietnam’s strategic goals for the 100th anniversaries of the Communist Party in 2030 and the country’s founding in 2045, General Secretary To Lam highlighted Vietnam’s ongoing reforms.

These include institutional and infrastructure improvements, streamlined governance, and administrative reforms to create a favorable environment for foreign investors, including US businesses, he said.

He stressed the importance of science and technology in Vietnam’s development, and called on US businesses to expand investment in key sectors where the US has strengths and Vietnam has needs, such as emerging technologies, the digital economy, green transition, renewable energy, and logistics.

USABC President and CEO Ted Osius, along with US business representatives, expressed their gratitude and honor for the meeting. They congratulated Vietnam on its socio-economic achievements, and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the US-Vietnam relations.

The business executives appreciated Vietnam’s top leaderships for their strong support and guidance.

They expressed confidence in Vietnam’s future under the leadership of General Secretary To Lam, and pledged to continue supporting and partnering with Vietnam to achieve its development goals in the new era.
