The staffing and organization must be highlighted towards a streamlined and strong army in which a lean approach to staffing brings optimal performance.

Enhancing the quality of training and education in the army is another mission listed among major tasks by the army’s Party Committee for the 2020-2025 period to make further changes in observance and discipline.

Improving counseling and forecasting capacity is determined as one of the important tasks that ensures the army is proactive in all cases.

At the 11th Party Congress of the Vietnam People’s Army that concluded on September 30, Gen. Ngo Xuan Lich, defense minister, reiterated the importance of being proactive and keeping vigilance on the national defense tasks.

The army is required to step by step complete projects on military industry technologies that enable it to master the technologies in weapon manufacturing and maintenance. Accordingly, preparations for the modern army after 2030 will be made in the next five years.

The last but not least, the army will emphasize the foreign policy that facilitates Vietnam’s defense tasks and helps protect the country in a preventive way.
