VITM 2024: Chance to boost tourism

The launch of VITM 2024 largely aims to meet the rising demand for traveling on the occasion of Reunification Day at the end of this month and the summer holiday.

The Vietnam International Travel Mart (VITM 2024) aims to expand business connections, offer reasonable travel prices, and meet demand, boosting tourism for the country that targets US$34 billion worth of tourism revenues this year.

Kicked off in downtown Hanoi, the leading event of its kind gathered more than 700 units from 55 cities and provinces across Vietnam and 16 countries and territories all over the world, including India, Japan, Malaysia, South Korea, the Philippines, and Taiwan (China), among others. About 80,000 international and domestic guests are expected to site.

To stimulate demand, travel agents will provide discounts of up to 45%. Meanwhile, Vietnam Airlines – the national flag carrier – offers reduced fares for many domestic flights, including Danang, Da Lat, Nha Trang, and Buon Ma Thuot.

During the mart on April 11-14, the organizer will launch tours at shock prices, at nearly VND12 million (US$480) for South Korea; VND15.9 million ($640) for Japan; Taiwan (China) at VND9.9 million ($400).

Flexible time of tours become the highlight of tourism offers in which travelers are able to choose a proper time for traveling instead of fixed departure, stay, and arrival like before, according to Pham Van Bay, Director of Vietravel Hanoi. The company has 60 destinations earning discounts up to 40% and 30 others with new and unique summer traveling products within Vietnam, Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia, Europe, Australia, and the US.

By joining the promotional campaign, airlines have offered thousands of products with big discounts, and Vietnam Airlines is among them. It cooperates with travel agents to put forward 10,000 cheap tickets with a 15% discount each, the highest discount it has provided to passengers.

The purpose of the VITM 2024 is to meet the rising demand for traveling on the occasion of Reunification Day (April 30) - International Labor Day (May 1) and the summer holiday (when schoolchildren get a months-long summer break), largely boosting tourism.
