VITM Hanoi 2023 closes, 10.000 tours sold out

VITM Hanoi has become one of the largest-scale fairs of the tourism industry, helping tourism businesses and domestic and international partners to meet and seek cooperation.

Over 10,000 tours were sold out during the Vietnam International Tourism Mart (VITM) Hanoi 2023 in Hanoi from April 13-16.

According to statistics of the Vietnam Tourism Association (VITA), the organizer of the VITM Hanoi 2023, the event has attracted more than 3,000 Vietnamese and international tourism businesses from 51 provinces and cities nationwide, 15 countries and territories.

Cao Thi Ngoc Lan, Vice President of VITA, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the VITM Hanoi, said 18 events promoting destinations were held successfully. Through B2B (businesses-to-businesses) and B2C (businesses-to-customers) meetings, VITM Hanoi 2023 has created a new atmosphere for exchange and cooperation between domestic and international tourism businesses.

“VITM Hanoi is the key tourism event in the year held in the capital, making an important contribution to the recovery of inbound tourism and further promoting domestic tourism activities,” Lan said.

A survey conducted by VITA shows that VITM Hanoi 2023 was a success. The satisfaction of the fair participants, 25% are very satisfied, 72.5% are satisfied, and 0.3% are not satisfied. Regarding the target met, 9% rated the fair as exceeding expectations, 88% said it met their expectations, and 2% said they did not accomplish anything. More than 90% of businesses and organizations are committed to continuing their participation in VITM  next year. The total revenue of 10 biggest businesses is reported at VND45 billion (US$1.6 million).

At the closing ceremony, the organizing board awarded medals to 33 units that participated and actively contributed to the success of the mart, specifically, 10 booths with the largest scale; nine booths with the most impressive design; 12 booths organizing special activities to attract visitors, Vietnam Airlines – sponsor of transportation and Hanoi Open University’s Tourism Faculty.

As one of the 10 booths with the largest scale, Korea Tourism Organization’s booth brought many interesting games and activities for visitors, such as trying on the traditional costume hanbok, picking up teddy bears, enjoying traditional cuisine, playing quizzes about Korean tourism, culture and making handicrafts. Visitors to the KTO booth can also have their photos taken and printed for free.

On occasion, KTO coordinated with Vietravel, Hanoi Tourism, Saigon Tourist, Flamingo Redtours, Vietnam Tourism, Vietluxtour, Postum Travel, and Hanotours companies to offer discounts and gifts for customers.

“We have been actively participating in and organizing many cultural and tourism activities aimed at Vietnamese tourists and travel agencies. During the four days of VITM 2023, we hope that visitors in Hanoi can find useful information about Korean tourism,” said Lee Jae Hoon, Chief Representative of KTO Vietnam.

The theme of VITM Hanoi 2023 is "Cultural Tourism", aiming to guide tourism businesses to invest in building new tourism products based on the traditional cultural values of Vietnam.

After 11 editions, VITM Hanoi has become one of the important tourism promotion activities, the largest tourism industry fair, providing opportunities for tourism enterprises and domestic and international partners to meet and seek cooperation.
