China, Russia, Laos and Cambodia showcase military ties in Hanoi Parade
Foreign military delegations from China, Russia, Laos, and Cambodia joined the National Day parade in Hanoi on September 2.
THE HANOI TIMES — At the invitation of Vietnam’s Ministry of National Defense, honor guard units from four countries took part in the 80th anniversary celebration of the August Revolution and National Day at Ba Dinh Square. Their presence reflected long-standing friendships and growing defense ties with Vietnam.
China
The Honor Guard of the People’s Liberation Army of China sent 120 members representing the army, navy and air force. Their appearance marked official state-level participation.

Russia
The National Flag Unit of the Russian Federation came from the 154th Preobrazhensky Independent Commandant’s Regiment, which serves as the official honor guard regiment of the Russian Armed Forces, stationed in Moscow, representing ground, aerospace and naval forces.
Today, ties between Russia’s Armed Forces and the Vietnam People’s Army are growing stronger, built on traditional solidarity and friendship, while the Vietnam–Russia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership continues to reach new heights.

Laos
The Lao People’s Army contingent included 120 soldiers, some of whom had joined Vietnam’s April 30 parade and Russia’s May 9 Victory Day parade. Their participation proved the traditional solidarity of Laos and Vietnam.
Cambodia
The Royal Cambodian Armed Forces contingent brought 120 officers and soldiers. Their participation symbolized enduring solidarity and cooperation between the two armies.
