Danish companies help build green bituminous binders processing plant in Vietnam

Vung Ro Petroleum on Jan, 11 signed an agreement with DenimoTech- a Danish global manufacture to construct a high-tech bituminous binders processing plant.

This under-construction plant is part of Vung Ro Petroleum’s attempt to produce its own high-quality bituminous binders compliant to Vietnamese standards, American Superpave Performance Grade Standards and others required by regional customers.

Signing ceremony

The plant will have a storage capacity of 12,000 MT with a second phase upgrade to 30,000 MT.
“The phase 1 of constructing the plant would finish within 1 year while the second phase of upgrading can take about 26-28 months to complete”, briefed Kirill Korolev, CEO of Vung Ro Petroleum.
The project is expected to be a top-notch environmental friendly bitumen emulsion and polymer modified bitumen plant, which is also a state-of-the-art packing facility to facilitate exports on hi-tech bituminous products to regional markets.
Though not confirming the exact number, Vung Ro Petroleum’s CEO said, the project’s total cost can be up to “hundreds of million” US dollars.
CEO Kirill Korolev believes the project would contribute significantly to Vietnam’s infrastructure developments. Therefore, Vung Ro Petroleum is proud to contribute to this development with full commitment and selecting the world’s best technology providers to bring possibly the best materials and science to the Vietnamese market.
At while, the project would not only bring environmental friendly technology to Vietnam but also create chances for Vietnamese engineers to absorb foreign experience to build the roads aged at least 20 years, according to Dr. Bernd Schmidt, CEO of BITUMINA Group.
Dr. Bernd Schmidt commits: “We will deliver a cutting-edge facility and technology for Vung Ro Petroleum and help bring in pavement design which has longer-life and can solve the local engineering problems of the Vietnamese Construction and Industrial Sectors”.
DenimoTech is a subsidiary of BITUMINA GROUP with ultra-modern manufacturing facilities in Aarslev, Denmark. The company has delivered plants to more than 180 countries in the world and to some of the most advanced Fortune 500 companies.
