Fireworks set to light up Vietnam skies tonight

Hanoi will set off fireworks at six locations, while Ho Chi Minh City has prepared four venues.

THE HANOI TIMES — Major cities of Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Cantho and Haiphong will organize large-scale fireworks shows on September 2, joined by many provinces across Vietnam.

Other provinces and cities, including Hung Yen, Thanh Hoa, Quang Tri, Gia Lai, An Giang, Dong Nai, Tay Ninh, and Ca Mau, will also host fireworks and cultural programs to mark the 80th anniversary of National Day.

The shows will feature both high-altitude and low-altitude fireworks, lasting around 15 minutes in most localities. Alongside the displays, many places will hold cultural performances to create a festive atmosphere.

The Hanoi Times presents the list of fireworks shows across Vietnam on September 2, marking the 80th National Day.

Hanoi: Six locations

  • Two high-altitude and low-altitude shows with pyrotechnics at Hoan Kiem Lake (in front of Ha Noi Moi Newspaper and the Central Post Office)
  • Four other sites: Thong Nhat Park (Hai Ba Trung Ward), My Dinh National Sports Complex (Nam Tu Liem Ward), Lac Long Quan Garden (Tay Ho Ward), Van Quan Lake (Ha Dong Ward)
  • Around 600 high-altitude shells and 90 low-altitude launchers at each site
  • Time: 9 PM – 9:15 PM

Ho Chi Minh City: Four locations

  • High-altitude shows: Saigon River Tunnel area (An Khanh Ward), new urban center (Binh Duong Ward), central square (Vung Tau Ward)
  • Low-altitude show: Dam Sen Cultural Park (Binh Thoi Ward)
  • Time: 9 PM – 9:15 PM

Hung Yen:

  • Nguyen Van Linh Square (Pho Hien Ward)
  • Ky Ba Park (Tran Lam Ward)
  • Time: 8 PM – 9 PM

Haiphong:

  • Fireworks at City Theater Square and Eastern Cultural Center Square

Thanh Hoa: 

  • Lam Son Square (Hac Thanh Ward)
  • Time: 9:30 PM – 9:45 PM

Quang Tri:

  • Ho Chi Minh Square (Dong Ha City)
  • Provincial Cultural and Cinema Center (Nam Dong Ha Ward)
  • Time: 9:50 PM

Gia Lai:

  • Great Unity Square (Pleiku City)
  • Time: 9:30 PM

An Giang:

Time: Rach Gia Ward and Phu Quoc

Dong Nai:

  • Tan Trieu Ward Square
  • Suoi Cam Lake (Binh Phuoc Ward)

Tay Ninh:

  • Two locations in Long An and Tan Ninh wards
  • Time: 9 PM

Cantho

  • Tay Do Park (Hung Phu Ward) – high-altitude
  • Xa No Park (Vi Tan Ward) – low-altitude
  • 5A urban area (Phu Loi Ward) – low-altitude
  • Time: 9:30 PM

Ca Mau

  • Phan Ngoc Hien Square (An Xuyen Ward)
