THE HANOI TIMES — The first beauty pageant for women with disabilities – Miss Crescent Moon – will accept applications from now until April 30, according to Nguyen Dinh Phuc, Head of the organizing committee.

Held for the first time in Vietnam, Miss Crescent Moon carries a profound humane message that celebrates the beauty, talent, and determination of women with disabilities. This is a platform for contestants between the ages of 18 and 45 to showcase their beautiful and talented selves. It is also a forum to share inspiring stories of perseverance, and affirming self-worth in society.

The format of the pageant is different as the costumes are tailored to each contestant. The organizing committee also assembles a team of staff with psychological knowledge to support and care for the contestants throughout the competition.

Phuc said that in addition to meeting the age requirements, contestants must have talents such as singing, dancing, playing instruments, storytelling, speaking, or other special genius.

The theme of the Miss Crescent Moon 2025 crown is "Reaching beauty," inspired by the crescent moon, stars, and the Milky Way to send a powerful message about women's resilience.
