Thousands of residents and visitors gathered across Hanoi on the night of September 2 to watch dazzling fireworks celebrating the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day.
THE HANOI TIMES — At exactly 9 PM, five fireworks sites across the capital burst into color, with high-altitude, low-altitude, and pyrotechnic effects.
Cheers and applause echoed as the skies lit up, turning Hanoi into a sea of light and excitement.
The five venues included Hanoimoi Newspaper headquarters and the Central Post Office in Hoan Kiem Ward, the islet at Thong Nhat Park in Hai Ba Trung Ward, the Water Sports Palace at My Dinh National Sports Complex in Tu Liem Ward, and Lac Long Quan Flower Garden in Tay Ho Ward. Crowds gathered early, while many others chose rooftops and high-rise balconies for the best views.
This year’s display used 3,600 high-altitude shells and 540 low-altitude launchers, with a budget of US$530,000. For 15 minutes, the capital’s night sky sparkled with bursts of light, drawing delighted cheers from families, friends, and tourists.
The spectacle left the city glowing long after the last firework faded, wrapping up National Day celebrations with a sense of joy and pride.
