Hanoi to hold youth dialogue to foster innovation and civic engagement

Hanoi authorities and young generations expect to come up with practical solutions to boost socio-economic development, resolve social issues and foster the capital into a worthwhile city.

THE HANOI TIMES — Hanoi Chairman Tran Sy Thanh will hold a dialogue with 250 young people on November 27 to discuss youth policies, innovation and their role in the capital’s development, according to the Hanoi People’s Committee.

Under the theme “Hanoi Youth: Igniting Aspirations - Leading with Creativity - Acting with Responsibility,” the dialogue aims to collect ideas and proposals from young participants to support Hanoi’s socio-economic growth.

Key discussion topics include building a healthy educational environment, developing digital citizens, advancing youth participation in science, technology, innovation and digital transformation as well as fostering economic development and international exchange.

The meeting will gather about 250 delegates, including representatives from the Hanoi Party Committee, People’s Council and People’s Committee, the Central Youth Union Secretariat, city departments and agencies, youth organizations and and exemplary young individuals from various sectors.

The dialogue is part of the city’s plan to implement the Youth Law No. 57/2020/QH14 and related government decrees on youth engagement.

Last year, the event, with the theme “Youth Participation in Building a Green, Cultural, Civilized and Modern Hanoi,” attracted 450 delegates.

Discussions centered on three key themes, including “Green Hanoi”, “Cultural Hanoi” and “Civilized and Modern Hanoi”.
