Hanoi to light up My Dinh with fireworks celebrating 14th National Party Congress

As Hanoi prepares for the country’s most important political event, the capital will host a large-scale fireworks display and cultural program designed to create a festive atmosphere and mark a historic milestone in national development.

THE HANOI TIMES — Hanoi will stage a fireworks display on the night of January 23 as part of a special art program celebrating the 14th National Party Congress, according to a plan issued by the Hanoi People’s Committee.

The 30-minute show at the My Dinh National Stadium area will serve as the centerpiece of the celebration, featuring large-scale high-altitude and pyrotechnic fireworks under strict safety and security controls.

The launch site will be set up within the My Dinh National Stadium complex in Tu Liem Ward. The display will include 4,600 high-altitude fireworks, 950 fountain fireworks of various types and 4,400 pyrotechnic tubes.

Construction of the launch site will run from January 11 to January 23. The fireworks are scheduled to begin at 8:10 PM on January 23.

The Capital Command of Hanoi will coordinate with relevant units under the Ministry of National Defense to verify technical standards, product specifications, origins, production years and expiry dates of the fireworks, as well as the qualifications of foreign experts and technical staff involved.

The Hanoi Department of Public Security will oversee security, public order and traffic safety, including traffic diversions around the fireworks area and support for vehicles transporting fireworks and technical equipment.

Other municipal departments will handle public viewing arrangements, environmental sanitation and logistical support, while Sun Group will take overall responsibility for preparation, safety and technical execution.

The 14th National Party Congress, Vietnam’s largest political event, will take place from January 19 to 25 at the National Convention Center in Hanoi’s Tu Liem Ward.
