The Hanoi People’s Committee submitted the plan on capital use and debt payment for the project to the city’s People’s Council at its ongoing 4th session.

Under the plan, developed by the Hanoi Metropolitan Railway Management Board, the building of Route No 3 will use over 957.26 million EUR in official development assistance (ODA) loans, provided by the French Government (335 million EUR), the French Development Agency (179 million EUR), the European Investment Bank (141 million EUR) and the Asia Development Bank (about 302 million EUR).

As such, debt payment will start this year. Currently, bidding process and contracts have been signed for 8 out of the total 9 bidding packages under the project. Approximately 30 percent of the workload has been completed so far.

The Hanoi Train Station-Nhon route has a total length of 12.5km, comprising 8.5km of an elevated track that will connect Nhon depot with Thu Le Zoo, and a 4km-long underground track that will link Thu Le with the Hanoi railway station.

The line will start at Nhon and reach Cau Giay via National Highway 32, Ho Tung Mau and Xuan Thuy streets. It will also pass through Kim Ma, Nui Truc and Quoc Tu Giam streets. The last stop will be the Hanoi railway station at the T-junction of Le Duan and Tran Hung Dao streets.
