Hotels in Hanoi to make stay declarations through software

The software Application Service Management helps shorten the time for residence declarations.

THE HANOI TIMES — Hanoi police encourages accommodation establishments and medical facilities in the city to use Application Service Management (ASM) software for stay declarations and healthcare management.

Developed by the Ministry of Public Security, ASM focuses on monitoring and managing the performance and quality of business transactions.

Using ASM software to make declarations helps medical examination and treatment facilities and accommodation facilities ensure security and order in the area.

With simple operations, hospital staff only need to scan the QR code on a citizen's identification card or VNeID app using a card reader to register a stay.

All patient and caregiver information will be verified in the national population database and shared with Hanoi Police.

ASM software connects directly to the National Population Database, allowing establishments to quickly and securely verify client information when scanning QR codes on ID cards.

As a result, they save time on residence declarations and eliminate the need for manual data entry.

Moreover, the software supports collecting and reporting data to authorities accurately. By connecting to the National Population Database, ASM improves the efficiency of residence management without disrupting business operations.

ASM is free for one year (from May 1, 2025, to April 30, 2026) for small establishments, such as motels and guesthouses with fewer than ten rooms, public medical facilities, dormitories, and some special accommodation models.

According to the Hanoi Police Department, the ASM is a step forward in residence management, improving its effectiveness and creating convenience for people and businesses in the capital.
