Huge range of programs and activities to celebrate Hanoi's Liberation Day
An event in the spotlight is a photo exhibition that will display documentary photos of Hoan Kiem District from the August Revolution in 1945 to the day the capital was taken by the Vietnamese army on October 10, 1954.
Many relics sites in Hanoi's Old Quarter are organizing many meaningful programs and activities to introduce the history, culture and people on the 70th anniversary of the capital's Liberation Day (October 10, 1954-2024).
One of the highlights of the series is the photo exhibition "Hanoi in Me", which takes place from September 28 to October 29 in the walking area around Hoan Kiem Lake.

The exhibition "Memories of Hanoi - 70 years", which recreates the space of the old capital in Hanoi's Old Quarter during the period of the National Resistance War until the day of Victory (1947 - 1954), will run from October 2 to 13 at Phung Hung Mural Space.
A photo exhibition entitled "Hoan Kiem District - Historical Images" will present documentary photos of Hoan Kiem District from the August Revolution in 1945 to the day the Vietnamese Army took over the capital on October 10, 1954.
From October 4 to December 31, the Heritage House (87 Ma May Street, Hang Buom Ward) will host a thematic exhibition and live tour on "Stories of Hang Street". The event is organized by the Management Board of Hoan Kiem Lake and Hanoi Old Quarter in cooperation with artist Nguyen Manh Duc.
The live tour "Stories of Hang Street" was developed by the board in collaboration with the Youth Theater, and recreates the space and cultural lifestyle of an old Hanoi household practicing Oriental medicine in the 1930s.
Through real scenes, characters, and traditional song and dance performances, combined with sound and light effects, the artists of the Youth Theater will take the audience back to the 1930s of the last century.
The Ho Guom Cultural Information Center at 2 Le Thai To Street will host the photo exhibition "Hanoi - Victory Day 1954" and show the documentary "Memories of Hanoi" from October 9 to 20.
From October 10 to 31, the Heritage Villa at 49 Tran Hung Dao Street will feature a photo exhibition entitled "Hanoi - A Time to Remember", which will showcase 86 black-and-white photos published for the first time by two writers, Le Bich and Andy Soloman (British reporters). The photos will help viewers clearly feel the transformation of Hanoi during the renovation period.
At the Hanoi Old Quarter Cultural Exchange Center (50 Dao Duy Tu Street), there will be a traditional music performance by the Dong Kinh Co Nhac group on the evening of October 19.
In addition, an online exhibition titled "Dear Capital Citizen!" and a display of typical documents were opened at the Government Guest House at 2 Le Thach Street. The exhibition will run until October 31.
