More foreign firms to attend int'l furniture fair in Vietnam

The four-day Vietnam International Furniture and Home Accessories Fair will begin on March 8, with the presence of 100 foreign brands, its organizers said Thursday.

A total of 313 firms from dozens of countries will showcase their products at 1,532 booths at the 2017 fair, posting respective rises of 23.7 percent and 23.3 percent against the 2016 edition, said the Handicraft and Wood Industry Association of Ho Chi Minh City.
Vietnam earned 7.3 billion U.S. dollars from exporting wood, non-wood forest products and woodworks last year, the association said, noting that the exported woodworks alone were worth over 5.1 billion U.S. dollars.
The country is expected to make wood and wood-based products of some 8 billion U.S. dollars this year.
