Photo exhibition traces 80 years of Vietnam’s National Assembly

The exhibition traces the National Assembly’s evolution over eight decades, highlighting its expanding role in legislation, oversight, and national decision-making.

THE HANOI TIMES — An outdoor exhibition featuring more than 150 photographs highlighting the formation and development of Vietnam’s National Assembly opened on August 7 along Nguyen Hue and Dong Khoi streets in Ho Chi Minh City.

The 10-day exhibition commemorates the 80th anniversary of Vietnam’s first general election (January 6, 1946) and reflects on the performance of Ho Chi Minh City’s delegation at the National Assembly in the 2021 - 2026 term.

The curated photos capture significant milestones in the National Assembly’s journey, from the inaugural election of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam to the wide-ranging reforms that have shaped the country’s legislative system and national development.

The images vividly portray how the National Assembly has strengthened its role in lawmaking, oversight, and decision-making on key national issues, in addition to 50 photographs documenting the notable activities of the HCMC delegation during the current term.

These images highlight the delegation’s commitment to innovation, effective oversight, policy advocacy, and active engagement with constituents, contributing to both the city’s and the nation’s socio-economic development.

The exhibition offers the public a deeper understanding of the National Assembly’s evolving role, responsibilities, and its vital contributions over the past eight decades.
