Vietnam accelerates preparations for 80th national anniversary grand exhibition

Titled “80 Years of the Journey for Independence, Freedom, and Happiness,” the exhibition will highlight Vietnam’s achievements, cultural identity, and development journey.

THE HANOI TIMES — The upcoming national achievement exhibition, which marks the 80th anniversary of National Day, must be held to the highest standards, said Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on July 29.

At the government’s meeting, he stressed that this major political and cultural event will be held for the first time on a large scale to honor the country’s 80-year course of development and construction.

The Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Nguyen Van Hung, reported that preparations are moving forward at an accelerated pace.

The ministry has already finished the official logo, communications plan, and overall exhibition design with the help of international consultants.

Several components have nearly reached completion, including the mock-up design, digital exhibition platform, installation planning, and preparations for the opening and closing ceremonies.

To reflect the country’s diversity and progress, provinces and cities will showcase products certified by programs such as the One Commune One Product (OCOP), Vietnamese Good Agricultural Practices (VietGAP), and International Organization for Standardization (ISO).

Meanwhile, localities will promote their culinary heritage and cultural identity to enhance the exhibition's appeal. Vietnam Television (VTV) and the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) will broadcast the opening and closing ceremonies live.

Hanoi will oversee infrastructure, transportation, security, and sanitation for visitors.

Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh ordered that most setup work be completed by August 15.
