SPECIAL COMMUNIQUÉ on Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong’s passing away

The Party Chief's funeral will be held as a national mourning.

The Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee, the National Assembly, the President, and the Government and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front have issued a special communiqué, announcing that General Secretary of the CPV Central Committee Nguyen Phu Trong passed away at 1:38 pm on July 19, 2024, and his funeral will be held as a national mourning.
