HCMC Metro line reduces private vehicle use

The Ben Thanh-Suoi Tien metro line in Ho Chi Minh City has carried more than 4.6 million passengers after two months of commercial operation (December 2024-February 2025). The line, which operates from 5 AM to 10 PM with 200 departures daily, has improved travel convenience and reduced the use of private vehicles in the southern metropolis.

Malaysia seeks closer cooperation with Vietnam to promote ASEAN's inclusiveness, sustainability, and resilience amid global geopolitical and economic changes. Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim will attend the second ASEAN Future Forum (AFF) in Hanoi on February 25-26 to strengthen bilateral ties and regional integration in support of ASEAN's strategic vision for 2045.

Vietnam shows potential in global battery supply chain despite challenges

Vietnam ranks 20th out of 30 in the 2024 Global Lithium-Ion Battery Supply Chain Index. With abundant nickel, cobalt, and rare earth resources, the country has the potential to become a key player in the global battery market. However, challenges remain, including limited processing capacity, policy gaps, and the need for a robust domestic supply chain.

Vietnamese users get access to Siri in native language

Apple has introduced Vietnamese language support for Siri in iOS 18.4 beta 1, allowing users in Vietnam to interact with the virtual assistant in their native language for the first time. The feature is currently available to beta testers, with an official release expected in March. However, Vietnamese support for Apple Intelligence features remains unavailable.

Vietnam promotes trade in South India

Vietnam is participating in the Kerala Global Investment Summit 2025 in Kerala, India, on February 21-22 to strengthen cooperation in seafood, technology, trade, investment, and tourism. Vietnam is also showcasing its products at the exhibition alongside 100 other booths from various countries, promoting spices, coffee, and tourism.

Vietnam approves plan to develop excellent training centers and talents

Vietnam plans to develop excellent training centers and talents in 4.0 technology by 2030. The goal is to establish at least 1-2 training networks in each priority technology sector, and at least 2-3 networks in artificial intelligence, semiconductor industry, and biotechnology. The plan aims to attract at least 100 Vietnamese and international experts for research, teaching, and talent development.

Promoting Dalat as UNESCO Creative City of Music

Dalat hosted the "2025-2027 Action Plan for Implementing Commitments as a UNESCO Creative City of Music" seminar on February 22. During the event, experts provide guidance on expertise, offer investment funding solutions, and connect with consulting and implementation partners. Previously, Dalat was officially recognized as a member of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN) of Music on October 31, 2023.
