Vietnamese businesses seek to export more fruits to China at a trade fair held in Beijing on September 29-30. Between January and June, the export value of Vietnamese fruits and vegetables to China reached US$2.1 billion.

Vietnam and Thailand strengthen cooperation with "Three Connections" strategy

Vietnam and Thailand are enhancing cooperation through the “Three Connections” strategy discussed at a seminar held in Bangkok. This strategy aims to link supply chains, businesses, and sustainable development between the two nations. Thai officials highlighted Vietnam’s advantages, such as a young population and political stability.

Nha Trang Bay submarine services extended next year

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha has agreed to extend the pilot submarine services at Nha Trang Bay until March 30, 2025, to complete legal regulations. The Ministry of Transport, Ministry of National Defense, Khanh Hoa Province, Vinpearl, and other parties are tasked with ensuring safe operations. Between April and September 2022, Vinpearl conducted 713 successful diving trips with 2,708 participants. The Ministry of Transport is currently developing regulations to manage submarine tourism services.

Ho Chi Minh City seeks to maximize remittance resources

The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has approved a project to maximize remittance resources through 2030 with a focus on diversifying remittance transfer methods and creating favorable conditions for overseas Vietnamese to invest in their homeland.

Vietnamese students claim first place at Huawei’s Tech4Good

A Vietnamese student team developed SkyNet, a drone-AI solution to locate flood victims, winning first place at Huawei's Asia-Pacific Tech4Good competition on September 26. The project utilizes drones with SAR radar and AI to accelerate rescue operations in flooded areas. It meets criteria like high-resolution imaging, stable data transmission, and real-time reporting. The team will advance to the 2025 Global Finals and receive startup funding and mentorship from Huawei leaders.

 400 athletes to compete in national Vovinam championship   

Over 400 athletes are competing in the 2024 National Vovinam Championship, held from September 27 to October 6 in Quang Nam. Participants will vie for 48 medal sets across 26 combat and 22 form events. This tournament promotes physical fitness, cultural heritage, and offers an opportunity to select athletes for the national team and future international competitions. 

Traditional craft boosts Hoi An tourism  

The bamboo and coconut house-building craft in Cam Thanh, Hoi An, has been recognized as a National Special Intangible Cultural Heritage. Presented on September 27, this craft, closely tied to the famous Bay Mau nipa palm forest, boosts tourism and cultural preservation in the region. It is the sixth recognized craft in Hoi An.

Vietnam’s peacekeeping unit completes mission successfully 

Vietnam's Engineering Unit 2 returned home safely on September 28, after more than a year of serving in the UN Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA). The unit was praised for its outstanding performance in road maintenance, patrol routes, and humanitarian support. Their efforts strengthened Vietnam's international image and contributed to future peacekeeping missions. 

China company kicks off US$270-million stationery plant in northern Vietnam 

Chinese Deli Group on September 28 started the construction of a stationary plant worth VND6.5 trillion (US$270 million) in the northern province of Hai Duong. Covering 21 hectares, the factory will produce over 104 million stationery and household products annually. 

Drills held to prepare for Hanoi's security challenges 

The live-action drill was held at the National Conference Center to prepare Hanoi's readiness in response to cyberattacks, terrorism, and social disorder. The exercise emphasized the use of technology and coordination among military and police units, reflecting the city's commitment to enhancing its defense capabilities and crisis management strategies.
