Khen dance recognized as national heritage

The Khen dance art of the H'Mong ethnic minority has been recognized as Vietnam's national intangible cultural heritage. The art is practiced by H'Mong people in Mu Cang Chai, Tram Tau and Van Chan districts in the northern mountain province of Yen Bai.
The instrument used in the folk dance is Khen Panpipe, an important and unique musical instrument used by the H'Mong in their rituals, beliefs, and ethnic festivals.
Vietnamese Film wins TAICCA Award at Bucheon festival
"Than duoc" (Sesame Has Its Soul), a Vietnamese film directed by Oscar Duong and produced by Hang Trinh, won the Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA) Award in the It Project category at the NAFF during the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN) in South Korea.
Out of 279 submissions from 40 countries, the film was the only one from Vietnam among the 29 selected projects. The film delves into the lives of Vietnamese immigrant women in South Korea, shedding light on their struggles and pain as they face the overwhelming pressure of Korean beauty standards, not only for Vietnamese-Korean women but for women worldwide.
Quang Nam wants to build urban railway linking two international airports

The central province of Quang Nam has proposed the construction of an urban railway linking Chu Lai and Danang international airports.

The railway system will run along the coast of Vietnam's central region, connecting Hoi An with Danang and Chu Lai airports.
GSK Vietnam partners with EPLUS Research for sustainable vaccine supply in Vietnam
GSK Vietnam, a subsidiary of the British pharmaceutical company GSK, and EPLUS Research signed a memorandum of understanding to provide Vietnam with various types of vaccines.
The partnership aims to establish a sustainable vaccine supply chain, expand vaccine coverage to all target groups, and raise public awareness about the importance of vaccines in protecting health.
An $280 million golf-themed urban area approved in Bac Giang

The People's Committee of Bac Giang Province has approved an investment plan for a new urban area and golf course project on Nham Bien Mountain, covering about 134 hectares in Dong Son Commune, Bac Giang City, and Tien Phong Commune, Yen Dung District.
The project, with a total investment of VND6.4 trillion (US$280 million), includes the construction of 979 low-rise houses, social housing for over 2,700 people, a sports tourism development area, and an 18-hole golf course.

Vietnam launches new corporate bond trading system for transparency

The Vietnam Securities Depository and Clearing Corporation (VSDC) of the State Securities Commission of Vietnam (SSC) and the Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX) are ready to launch a separate corporate bond trading system to enhance transparency and efficiency in the bond market.
The trading, registration, depository, and settlement system will be submitted to the State Securities Commission for approval before officially launching. The Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank) has been selected as the settlement bank to connect the system with the VSDC and some depository members for a trial run.
Cyber attacks in Vietnam fall 4.2% in H1
Cyber attacks in Vietnam in the first half of 2023 fell 4.2% year-on-year, the Ministry of Information and Communications reported.
The results were thanks to efforts to track, notify, and provide advice on how to deal with incidents on information systems. It aligns with the ministry's commitment to building a secure and connected e-government that prioritizes national security, information security, cybersecurity, and personal data protection.
