Vietnam attends 8th China-South Asia Expo

More than 60 Vietnamese enterprises are taking part in the 8th China-South Asia (CSA) Expo, which opened in Yunnan Province on July 23.

The Vietnamese businesses are showcasing the country's key products, such as seafood, coffee, cashew nuts, footwear, wood products, and handicrafts.

Vietnam, Cuba promote construction cooperation

Minister of Construction Nguyen Thanh Nghi met his Cuban counterpart Rene Mesa Villafana in Hanoi on July 23 to continue sharing their knowledge and experience in construction management and development and to promote cooperation between the two countries' enterprises.

A Vietnamese delegation attended the 46th session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee in New Delhi from July 21 to 31.

This is Vietnam's first session as a member of the Committee for the 2023-2027 term. The country always pays attention to preserving and promoting the value of eight World Heritage elements in the country, and works effectively with the World Heritage Center and advisory bodies.

Documentary on Vietnam screened at UK international arts festival

"Once upon a bridge in Vietnam" by French-Vietnamese director François Bibonne was screened at the Ruthin International Arts Festival (RIAF) 2024, held from June 28 to July 28 in North Wales, UK. The film impressed British and international audiences alike.

Vietnam and Japan to strengthen cultural and tourism exchanges

Vietnam and Japan will boost cooperation in culture and tourism, focusing on promoting Vietnamese culture in Japan and organizing annual festivals in Sapporo. At a meeting between Takebe Tsutomu, special adviser to the Japan-Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Alliance and Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong on July 23, the two sides seek ways to support Japanese cultural events in Vietnam and suggested increasing the number of Japanese-speaking tour guides and highlighted the Vietnam Festival in Hokkaido.

Hanoi and localities boost tourism promotion

A conference in Can Tho on July 23 aimed to foster cooperation among Hanoi, Ninh Binh, and Kon Tum and Can Tho. Nearly 200 tourism businesses attended the event to seek opportunities for diverse services.

Vietnamese sports delegation prepares for Paris 2024 Olympics

The Vietnamese sports delegation arrived in Paris for the 2024 Olympic Games on July 24, comprising 39 members, including 32 athletes and coaches. The athletes will compete in 11 medal events: cycling, shooting, archery, judo, weightlifting, rowing, canoeing, boxing, athletics, swimming and badminton. The team will be aiming to perform at their best on the world's biggest sporting stage, with a notable presence in rowing and first-time representation in both canoeing and rowing.

Outstanding green credit debt in Vietnam reached nearly US$25 billion
As of March 31, 2023, outstanding green credit debt reached nearly US$25 billion, accounting for about 4.5% of total outstanding debt, according to the 2024 Green Finance Forum on July 22. Can Van Luc, a member of the National Financial and Monetary Policy Advisory Council, reported that Vietnam has issued about US$1.16 billion in green bonds from 2019 to 2023. To promote green finance, he emphasized the need for refining legal framework and the facilitation of green loans.

Ho Chi Minh City to build three international passenger water terminals
Ho Chi Minh City plans to build three international passenger terminals as part of its efforts to attract tourists. Bui Hoa An, Deputy Director of the city's Department of Transport, said the terminal to be built in the Can Gio coastal urban area will be able to accommodate ships of 100,000 GT (gross tonnage), the one in Mui Den Do will be able to serve ships of 60,000 GT, and the one in Ben Nghe Port will be able to handle ships of 30,000 GT.
