Vietnam entitled to contributions to the nation

President To Lam called on Vietnamese authorities on July 22 to seriously carry out policies for war veterans, relatives of martyrs, and beneficiary families on the eve of the 77th National Day for War Veterans and Martyrs [July 27, 1947-2024].

Vietnamese language promoted in France

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang, who is also Chairwoman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs, has met with the Vietnamese community in France and attended an event in Paris to honor the Vietnamese language.

 Hang said the Government of Vietnam always pays attention to overseas Vietnamese, reviews relevant policies and laws, and proposes amendments to ensure the rights and interests of expatriate Vietnamese in all fields.

Requiem for Vietnamese martyrs in Germany

The Vietnam War Veterans Association in the Berlin/Brandenburg region of Germany last weekend held a ceremony to commemorate the 77th anniversary of the War Invalids and Martyrs Day [July 27] and a requiem for fallen soldiers.

The exercise exemplifies the Vietnamese people's traditional ideals of respect and appreciation for those who gave their lives in defense of their country's independence.

Vietnamese, South Korean youths join Green Summer Campaign

On July 22, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Dak Lak Province held a closing meeting of the 2024 Green Summer Volunteer Campaign and an exchange with young people from Jeollabuk Province in South Korea. The Summer Campaign ran from July 9 to 22 and involved 7,220 volunteers from both countries.

Vietnam targets high GDP per capita by 2030

 

Vietnam aims for a GDP per capita of VND176 million (US$7,500) by 2030, reflecting a 75% increase from 2023. This goal is part of a broader plan to boost industrialization and modernization by 2045, with an average annual GDP growth rate of 7%. The strategy includes increasing the industrial sector to over 40% of GDP and the manufacturing sector to around 30% while creating competitive industrial enterprises and clusters.

Vietnam plans seaport development for 2030

Vietnam aims to develop large-scale industrial and logistics zones linked to seaports by 2030, as part of a detailed plan for 2021-2030. More than 1.2 billion tons of goods are expected to pass through its seaports by 2030, with containerized cargo projected at 46.3-54.34 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) and 17-19 million passengers.

Top players to compete in Binh Duong 2024 Billiards Tournament

The 12th Binh Duong International Three-cushion Carom Billiards Tournament 2024 - Becamex IJC Cup will feature top domestic and international players, including Tran Quyet Chien and Bao Phuong Vy. The event will be held from July 31 to August 3 to celebrate national holidays and promote billiards. 64 players will compete in knockout rounds, with the winner receiving VND70 million (US$2,950) and a trophy.
