Venezuela allocates 100,000 ha for Vietnamese agricultural investors

Venezuelan Vice President Jorge Márquez pledged 100,000 hectares of farmland to Vietnamese investors and promised direct support for their ventures. Venezuela praised Vietnam’s expertise in agricultural science and named Vietnam a priority partner for the development of 17 million hectares of farmland under the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA) bloc.

Kien Giang accelerates 21 Phu Quoc projects ahead of APEC 2027

In preparation for APEC 2027, the southern province of Kien Giang is implementing 21 infrastructure projects on Phu Quoc Island. Ten of these projects are funded by the public sector, while the remaining 11 are funded through public-private partnerships and business investments. These projects have a total cost of over US$5.4 billion and are expected to be completed by June 2027. 

Vietnam exports African swine fever vaccine

Vietnam on June 9 exported its first batch of 120,000 doses of an African swine fever vaccine to Indonesia. The vaccine, developed by AVAC Vietnam, was approved by Indonesia’s Ministry of Agriculture in April. This shipment marks Vietnam’s growing role in veterinary medicine exports. The vaccine has also been registered in India, Malaysia, Nepal, and Myanmar.

Vietnam’s industrial sector posts strong growth

In the first five months of 2025, Vietnam’s industrial sector expanded by 8.8%, driven by a 10.8% increase in processing and manufacturing. Key export products exhibited significant growth, with car exports surging by 70.3%, TV exports rising by 25.6%, and NPK fertilizer exports increasing by 18.8%. 

Promotion program boosts consumption 

The National Promotion Program, Vietnam Grand Sale 2025, will take place nationwide from June 14 to July 14, opening to all businesses and offering discounts of up to 100%. The program combines traditional and e-commerce channels to boost domestic consumption and support GDP growth targets amid global economic uncertainty.

DANAFF 2025 offers 100 free film screenings 

The third Danang Asian Film Festival (DANAFF 2025) will take place from June 29 to July 5. During this time, 100 award-winning films from the Cannes, Berlin, and Venice festivals will be screened in 200 showings throughout the city. For the first time, DANAFF 2025 introduces a project market that connects young filmmakers with international mentors. Taking place alongside the Danang International Fireworks Festival, DANAFF aims to promote Vietnamese cinema and tourism across Asia.

Airlines expand international networks to support tourism and trade

The national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines has launched direct flights to Bali, Busan, and Milan, the latter being Vietnam’s first-ever route to Italy, and increased flights to Singapore and Bangkok. Meanwhile, Vietjet Air has opened new routes to Brisbane, Xi’an, and Chengdu. These expansions aim to boost tourism and trade amid the strong post-pandemic recovery of the aviation industry.

VinUni targets global Top 100 with major investment

With a US$366 million investment from Vingroup, VinUniversity has launched its two-phase strategy to become a top-100 global university. The strategy primarily focuses on academic infrastructure and recruiting elite faculty. Since its founding in 2020, VinUni has earned a QS 5-Star rating, establishing its international academic presence in just five years.
